A/N: so, I found this while looking through the weird array of documents I have in my laptop. This was written in December, as part of a collab I wanted to do with Squintern_ and Boneslover17. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy it!
P.S: Lily and Jamie, thanks for being awesome! and to all of you other #Boneheads Happy Valentine's Massacre Day!
Max Keenan nudged the man next to him with his elbow and angled his head towards his daughter and granddaughter. The two were laying on the ground, leafing through an illustrated Children's Encyclopedia, chatting excitedly about the different animals depicted in the book. "Tempe and her mom would spend hours looking through those books," he said tearing up a bit nostalgically, "She hated it when she had to go to bed, because then she wouldn't be able to 'look at the prettyful pictures' anymore."
Booth smiled at the image of his partner as a toddler begging her parents to let her stay up a bit longer to just look at pictures of animals. He imagined it wouldn't have been much different then than it was now with his three-year old daughter, the carbon copy of her mother. Even from the very beginning the similarities had been markedly clear, he mused. Despite having his chin and a few other facial features (like his Charm Smile, according to Brennan...) Christine Booth was undeniably her mother's daughter. She had bright, captivating blue eyes, a delicate nose, and fine cheekbones. Her skin was as light and delicate, if not more, and she had a way of saying the most incredible things while being extremely serious.
Both Max Keenan and Russ Brennan had been shell-shocked when they had met the tiny little girl. To Max, she brought back a tousand memories of his own little girl and his family, before they had abandoned her. To Russ she had brought back all the times he'd warded off the pain and cruelty brought on by his sister's peers, and all the good times the two of themhad spsient together playing Marco Polo, or trying to out do each other with their knowledge. After eighteen years of having supressed those memories and feelings, it was only right to share them with the single most important man in Temperance Brennan's life.
A/N: so, I might continue this. I dunno. Tell me what you think!
