Notes - SPOILERS FOLLOW FOR SESSION 4!!! If you haven't seen the whole thing, up to the very last episode, do not read this!!! Unless you're into spoilers, then by all means, enjoy.
That said, this is just some Rose/TenII prose. No dialogue, since its all in Rose's thoughts, but I wanted to write out some of the stuff of how I think they would work out. Might write something more with them in the future, but its more likely that I'll focus on drawing them instead. You should check out my DeviantART site for that ;p
Anyway, enjoy!
"Strange"
She loves this man – honestly, she does, with all her heart, and she knows he loves her too. That was why she chose him, after all. Because he actually said it, and the other Doctor – the "real" Doctor – had not. But sometimes it's just so strange.
When they travel now – since the Doctor always has to travel, even if he's stuck on one planet in one time – he always carries so much more luggage than he used to, and puts more stock in what material goods he has on him. His emotions are so much more extreme; he revels in them all, living this human life to the fullest. And sometimes he drifts off as if he isn't quite there; as if he is connected to something or someone far, far away, but just for a moment. Then he just snaps out of it and takes her in his arms again, whisking her off to the next rumor or legend he is following on this Earth.
She knows that she does something like that, too. Sometimes she looks at him and remembers that this isn't technically the man she fell in love with – just a copy. The "real" Doctor is off on adventures in places so far away, saving the universe again. Without her. She still misses him when she remembers this, and wonders if she made the right choice.
Then the Doctor – her Doctor – takes her hand again, and looks into her eyes. He tells her what those touches mean.
No, he is not the man she loved at first. But he can express what he feels for her in ways that man never could, and build a life with her here, staying with her always. The question she asked them both, to help her choose, proved that to her. That was why she chose him, no matter what the past once held. He remembered it all anyway, so why should it be any different?
The Doctor leans down and kisses Rose again, breaking her out of her reverie. She smiles and kisses him back, then follows him, as always.
