All right, I wrote this poem for my undeserving English teacher late Wednesday night, and wanted to post it. Hope youlike it. It pretty much personifies myself...Lots of similes.

Oh, and this can be applied to myself, or to Captain Jack Sparrow.

Disclaimer: I don't own Captain Sparrow or the Pearl, and I certainly do not own the Sea.

Thinking On The Quarter-Deck

Elsa (Sparrow) Severijn

The deck was silent as I paced the quarter-deck,

as I thought

Quiet, peaceful, hushed and still

I walked to and fro alone,

as I pondered

Individually, solitary, solely by my self

The canvas-The sails-blew calmly

Restful, tranquil, and all about unruffled

I smiled to myself, tapping the hilt of my sword,

my friend, who had gotten me out of a scrap-or a dozen

over the years at Sea

The Sea!

My home, aside my Pearl

The waves lapping against her blunt curves,

her oakum sealed boards

The waves; as blue or as green or as grey

as the sun and moon allowed

Its' surf as gentle or as calm

as the wind and weather permitted

The Sea was my home; the Ocean my resting place

If ever I were to have to find another dwelling,

I may die of heartbreak,

For I loved the Sea as I loved my Pearl

The air around me lighter now,

the sun about to crest the Horizon,

I grin again,

and swagger to the starboard side

Taking hold of a line,

I think to myself,

I ponder,

I wonder,

My life, what must it have been

if not for this one?

This one, which I love so dear

And with no limit,

not a marker of definence,

not a boundary of amount

I love this life,

the Sea,

the Pearl

And we are one,

the Sea,

the Pearl,

myself

We understand one another

We need no one else

The deck was indeed silent as I paced the quarter-deck...

I don't expect a hundred reviews on this, but I just wanted to have it posted somehwere. Maybe it'll give someone some inspiration, or just make them smile a little. I know it makes me smile.
