There was a horrendous amount of commotion in the Aphrodite cabin. Piper felt... different. The scene was fuzzy. Everything looked as if it was alive and moving and there was no reasonable explanation that Piper's mind could come up with. Her body felt lighter than usual. Her heart began to race faster and faster by the second as she heard the name "Jason" mentioned, followed by a series of whispers and giggles. Piper ran out of the cabin without any hesitation. At first, she suspected it was just her siblings teasing her again. But the tome in their voices sounded so real, so serious, even if laughter lingered behind.
Piper was nearly sprinting until she reached the middle of the camp. There was a group of campers gathered around one person who seemed to be the center of attention. Piper saw a blur of blonde hair and a slight glimpse of blue eyes. Was there a possibility that it was really him?

Jason had left on a quest. It would be dangerous. From past experience he decided not to take Piper. He didn't want her to get hurt. Not again. He left two weeks ago, but in Piper's mind, it felt more like an eternity. This was added to Piper's list of times she felt useless. Her boyfriend was out there somewhere, in danger, on a quest, without her. They fought about it time after time. As always, Jason won. The thought of charmspeaking him crossed her mind, but Piper could never bring herself to charmspeak her friends, and especially not Jason. Especially not the people she loved.

The demigods quieted down. They all stared at Piper, smiles spread wide across their faces. Piper frowned at them, oblivious to what was occuring. All eyes were on her. Even if she was a child of Aphrodite, Piper hated being the center of attention. They parted a little. Piper wanted to shrink back and hide from everyone, until she saw. Her throat immediatley tightened as Jason ran to embrace her. Right before he was in her grasp, the whole scene went dark.

Piper lurched awake by the feeling of her body hitting the hard floor. No. No, no, no, no, no. She thought. It was all a dream. All of it. She sat up, leaned against the bed, and pulled her legs in towards her body. It was all a dream. Piper started shaking. Jason could be dead for all she knew. And there was nothing she could do about it. Once she found out the quest was assigned, she immediately told Chiron her worries. When he repeatedly told her no, she tried everything. She tried sneaking out, she tried Iris messaging him, she even asked the gods for information on his whereabouts. But it seemed like everyone knew not to tell Piper anything for fear of upsetting her. Piper broke down. She began to cry more and more as the feeling of longingness for Jason swept over her.
