He is Him

A Chromedome and Rewind Oneshot

MTMTE SPOILERS /I believe for issue #33

It is strange to think about, yes, he was him but it wasn't him. He is Rewind, but not Rewind. Though he still seemed like his Rewind. Still talked on and on about history, and continued to record things without him noticing. He is still small and still smiled. Though it did seem that the smaller mech is having a hard time getting around the fact that, he is him but not him.

"Chromedome?"

There it is, there was never 'Domey' it had always been Chromedome, with...Rewind. It was strange, though he hoped that soon the other would be comfortable enough to call him 'Domey' again. It would be like nothing ever changed….

But it did. Chromedome watched as Rewind was torn away from him, and Rewind watched as Chromedome was torn away from him.

He finally tilted his helm up to look at the other who was standing at the opening of his door, he seemed a little concerned at his silence.

"-yes?" didn't sound right when it came out, at least to him.

"I can't seem to fall into recharge…" The smaller starts, these conversations were still weird, sure, yes, they loved each other, but it wasn't the same other. "Do you want to go-" a small pause,"stargazing with me?"

They have done it before, plenty of times. When they both came face to face, they sat on top of the Lost Light and watched the stars in silence. If anything, when they did that, it didn't feel as weird to be around each other.

" 'Course Rewind." He says sliding off the berth after a few moments of letting his answer hang in the air.

Again, complete silence as they walked through the halls of the ship, this time they did not plan to actually leave the ship, but simply go to the main deck, where there would be a large window, so large it felt like looking at a building.

Rewind took his seat first on the floor and watched as Chromedome sat by him…

Silence continued and Chromedome let his optics glaze over the billions of stars and planets...and then he felt it. Rewind ever so slightly leaned onto him, quiet for just a few.

"I love you"

He is still Rewind. Despite everything, it is still him.

"I love you too."

NOTE: I hope you liked the small one shot. Imagine how awkward it would be if you were in their situation honestly…. Still, they are very cute and I love them. Thanks for reading!
