Chapter One

Tomoyo sighed, not sure how she'd allowed Sakura to talk her into coming here. Her friend was out on the dance floor with an awkward Sayoran. She guessed that his awkwardness came either from dancing in general, or that they were in a gay bar.

"Hey there," a voice said.

Tomoyo glanced up at the woman and gulped. Why does every girl who shows an interest in me so…scary? "Y-Yes?"

The large woman's eyes flickered across her body. "You wanna dance?"

"No thank you." Tomoyo hoped that the woman would head off.

"Why not?"

Tomoyo sighed. "I'm not interested."

"You're loss," the woman grumbled. She then walked away.

"That's the fourth one you've turned down," Sakura said as she and Sayoran sat down.

"She was…intimidating," Tomoyo fiddled with her drink. "Everyone who has asked me to dance has been."

"Then you need to do the asking!" Sakura declared.

"I just don't think this is the right place." Tomoyo stood up. "Can we leave now?"

Sakura grabbed her jacket. "Fine." The three friends made their way outside. Sakura glanced at Tomoyo. "So what is your type of girl? I can't help you find one if I don't know what to look for."

"Someone energetic," Sayoran added.

"And not someone who looks like they're ready to hop on a motorcycle and get tons of piercings." Tomoyo smiled.

The next day Tomoyo was at the bookstore. Her mother's birthday was coming up and there was a book out that she thought she'd like. "There you are." She pulled it down from the shelf.

"Good book," a voice said.

Tomoyo smiled. "Is it?" The redhead nodded. "It's a present for my mother. It sounds interesting though."

The shorter girl arched an eyebrow. "It kind of makes me wonder about your mother's…preference."

Tomoyo met the girl's red eyes. "We have quite a few things in common." The girl's face turned red.

The girl looked at her watch. "Crap." She looked back at Tomoyo. "I've got to get going. Work." Tomoyo nodded, feeling a little disappointed that they couldn't talk longer. "Um, would you want to meet up sometime?"

Tomoyo fought down a blush. This girl reminded her a little of Sakura. Not that she was about to force any feelings onto the girl. It just seemed like they had similar personalities. I guess I do have a type. "Alright."

The girl scribbled something down on a piece of paper and handed it to Tomoyo. "Give me a call." More blushing. "I really need to go. See you soon." She raced out of the store.

"Sakura-chan."

Sakura grinned at Tomoyo. "Hey. Listen, I'm sorry about the other night. I should have figured a club wouldn't be your thing. I've got a few other ideas though and?-"

"I want your advice." Tomoyo chuckled at Sakura's excitement.

"Hmm?"

"Well, I was at the bookstore today and I ended up talking to this girl."

"Really?" Sakura grabbed Tomoyo's hands. "Details!"

"Cute, a little shorter than me, and short red hair." Tomoyo fought back a blush.

"Are you going to see each other?" Sakura asked.

"She had to leave. She was late for work. She gave me her number though…I'm not sure how long I should wait before calling or what to say."

Sakura beamed. "Don't worry. I'll make sure you get a date with her." Tomoyo blushed. "What's her name?"

"We actually never got around to introducing ourselves."
