Title: Thinking at Midnight

Summary: Casey is in bed and is thinking about things. Anymore will probably spoil the story.

A/N: Sorry if you think the title's crappy. Also, if this comes out all underlined like some of my stories before, I have no idea why, so if it does, just ignore it.

Another A/N: This is I guess a story which takes place in the future because in this story they have already defeated Dai Shi and are no longer rangers.

Casey sat up in the bed and looked around. The master bedroom looked the same as it did twenty minutes ago. Same dresser full of his and his wife's clothes. Same mirror which showed his face. Same everything. He guessed he was just worrying over nothing.

Casey had a paranoia that Dai Shi wasn't destroyed like they had defeated him one year ago. He thought that he would return and hurt him or his family or his friends.

The former Red Tiger Ranger looked over at the nightstand and checked the digital clock. 11:59 AM. It was closing in on midnight like a tiger and its prey. That unusual analogy brought Casey's stomach to growl. He felt hungry.

The tiger reached over to the nightstand and grabbed the half-eaten Snickers bar, then bit into it and smiled. He loved eating chocolate late at night. He was glad his wife was in the shower now because she just hated him eating sugar before bed. Casey put it back.

He laid his head back against his pillow and began thinking of his old friends. Theo still was friends with Casey, and sometimes they would even hang out at Theo's karate school which Casey had helped him with. RJ and Fran had gotten married a month after Dai Shi was defeated. Jarrod had been relieved for being ridden of Dai Shi, and had made amends with the rangers. Camille had done the same, and she finally let Flit go.

Casey jumped a little when he heard a loud thunder clap from outside. He hoped his son Marty wouldn't awake. He didn't. Casey sighed in relief.

The former red ranger began to think of his future. He didn't know what'd he do. Probably something with a good pay. He chuckled. Maybe he'd go back to JKP and see if he could get re-hired. He'd like that.

Casey suddenly heard the shower water stop. His wife would be in bed in a minute or two. Casey grabbed the Snickers bar and hid it in the drawer of the nightstand. He looked around the room once more. Same old same old.

Rain pattered against the window and thunder clapped, while lightning shot through the sky. It frightened Casey slightly. He had been caught in a storm when he was little. He shivered.

Casey swept his mind clean of his bad childhood memories and grabbed the book he had been reading a while ago from his lap and opened it to the bookmarked page.

Thunder clapped once more, and Casey jumped, the book falling from his hands to the floor.

"Oh, the all-mighty tiger isn't afraid of the little storm, is he?" his wife said, stepping into the room wearing her pajamas.

"Oh stop it Lily!" Casey pleaded.

Lighting sounded from outside. Lily gasped a little.

"Well, I hope the great cheetah isn't afraid of a little storm, is she?" Casey grinned.

"Fine!" Lily said. "I give up! You win." She climbed into bed.

Casey leaned in and kissed her. She kissed back.

"I love you," they both said, first Casey, then Lily.

They then shut out the lights and were shrouded by darkness.

Casey smiled as he felt Lily cuddle up to him. He turned and looked at the clock. Midnight. He turned back and closed his eyes, falling into a deep sleep…

The End.
