Cold

He was always so cold inside, filled with the memories of loss, the self-hatred and bitterness.

There was little that could warm his heart.

But once he fell in love with that mad, impossible girl with hair as bright as sunrise, things changed.

First

He first met her in her back garden, his mind fresh and new as the leaves on the trees. She watched him like a dream come true, like he was something extraordinary.

And, for the first time, he really believed it.

Missing

When he didn't come back, her heart broke. It was being let down all over again. Her aunt didn't understand, calling her Raggedy Doctor the 'result of an overactive imagination' whatever that meant. She didn't get why they didn't believe her.

Her doctor was as real as the stars in the sky.

Older

The first real promise he made her, he'd broken. Twelve years too late. He'd let her down before he could have shown her the stars.

She was older now, no longer a little girl. She was Amy now, not Amelia.

He still hoped there was something of that little girl left, that he didn't ruin her like everyone else.

But there it was, despite the twelve years, the accent and the flame red hair.

Amelia Pond wasn't gone just yet.

Traveller

He wanted to show her every star, to make up for those twelve years he'd left her behind. He always gave into her requests, letting her take the lead.

"Pick a star, any star," he'd tell her and then they were off, right to where she'd picked out.

In the end, she was the bright star guiding him, taking out of the darkness and into somewhere better.

Broken Hearts

There was little in the world that made his hearts feel whole again and Amelia (he would always refuse to call her Amy) Pond's smile was one of them.

That's what he lived for, impressing her just to see that smile.

It was like glue for his hearts, even if it never lasted long. The dark, dreadful feelings always crept back in, but in those moments where she smiled, everything became brighter.

But the day she left him for good, leaving him behind for a boy (and really, he should never expected any less from her), his hearts didn't just break. It felt like they'd been torn open.

And not even her smile (even if there was a chance to see it again) would fix it.

Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who. This is merely fanfiction.

A/N: Idk what this is supposed to be. Just a collection of drabbles and stuff, I guess. I don't really feel like writing 'normal' short stories right now.
