You can't protect him forever.
It was a very dark night as Dumbledore made his way through the corridors of the Hogwarts. He had been asleep in his chambers when he had felt something strangely familiar, yet very dark and dangerous. Dumbledore had immediately guessed who he had sensed. Lord Voldemort, he was here for Harry. Dumbledore knew as much, and he was scared. very scared. He remembered Voldemort as a boy, Tom Marvolo Riddle his name had been. A very handsome boy, very smart and charming as well. He had been every teacher's favorite student, yet Dumbledore had always known there was something different about him, something hidden. He continued along the corridors, having already sent Professor Mcgonagall along with Hagrid to the gryffindor tower. Dumbledore went to seek out Voldemort. If he was lucky, Voldemort would still be weak. As he exited the school and made his way towards the forest he saw a dark figure moving by Hagrid's hut. His senses was immediately flooded with the magic radiating of the man. There was no doubt in his mind. It was Voldemort. He grabbed his wand tightly moving downwards towards the hut. "It was very foolish of you to come here Tom." Dumbledore said. "You are far from powerful enough to take on all of us here." Voldemort laughed as he turned to Dumbledore. "You were always very arrogant Professor." Dumbledore took a step back as Voldemort turned towards him. "I could easily tear apart every single teacher in that castle… Tell me Dumbledore.. How long do you think you can protect this boy?" Dumbledore immediately raised his wand, as he flicked it towards Voldemort A red burst of magic erupting from the tip. Voldemort quickly flicked his wand towards Dumbledore as a massive green burst of magic locked with Dumbledore's "Mwahaha" Voldemort laughed as his spell slowly won over Dumbledore's. But just before Dumbledore lost the struggle he flicked his wand slightly pushing the green back slightly before the spells violently broke free of each other in a explosion sending both Voldemort and Dumbledore to the ground. Voldemort slowly got back to his feet as Dumbledore again raised his wand. Over the hill several aurors came running towards them. "You can't protect him forever Dumbledore." Voldemort stepped backwards as a massive black mist crept in over him. "Not forever.." He repeated as the black mist shot up into the sky. Voldemort gone.
