Ch 1: Riddle Me This And Riddle Me That.
Note: I know this is really short but I decided to make it short incase people didn't like the tone and all. I know it's a little boring but its setting the scene. Nice reviews would be swell.
The sirens of cop cars, echoed in the silent Gotham street. "Down here, Commissioner." Gordon followed, rubbing his thumb over his grey mustache. The blaring sound of the Gotham train above their heads, screamed making Gordon jump slightly. "Just down a little more." Gordon followed felling on edge. The sounds of broken bottles cracked under his feet. The colorful shards of glass ironically dancing up at the moon. "Here she is sir." Renee Montoya said grim. Gordon took one look and pulled his head back in disgust. "Jesus." The mentality of Gotham police department is so underdeveloped that one in five crimes go unnoticed. This latest killer had killed four before his crimes had finally caught Montoya's attention. Montoya, the latest protege of Commissioner Gordon's, after the leave of Anna Ramirez when evidence was found she had assisted in the murder of Rachel Dawes. But a black shadow had been descending on Gotham in these past few months. Harvey Dent the symbol of hope had been murdered another victim of the horrendous Joker (as believed by the public), and Batman had been outcaste. The figure who had saved them was being hunted like a dog. And now in the dark days of Gotham, a monstrous animal had emerged making civilians its prey. Gordon looked back at what was once a young woman. "Did she die the same way?" Montoya nodded her head flicking her long brown hair behind her back. "Throat was slashed, after torture." Gordon's face turned grey looking at the corpse. Her arm twisted out of place. Her right leg tore from the body. The pink dress that slung snug on her body had been shredded allowing question marks carved into her flesh to be seen. "Did he leave his calling card?" Montoya nodded. "It was stuck to her forehead when I got here. I placed it in an evidence bag." Gordon looked at her scratching his head. "What did it say?" "Riddle me this. And riddle me that. Where is he hiding the big black bat. I scream and I call in powerful halls. But he ignore so I shall make him heed my call."
