No. He'd never call her. Never text her, whatever that was. Some muggle thing. Like the Fone itself. The fone named Henry Higgins. Fonetics or something apparently clever. He didn't know. Remus got it. At least he was here.
"Remus!"
"What?"
"How is...?"
"Who?" Remus looked at him. "Oh."
"And?"
"Fine."
"And?"
"Misses Marlene."
"And?" James was getting annoyed.
"No mention of you." Remus stepped close to him. "I'm sorry, Prongs."
"So am I. What do I do?"
"Apologize."
"NO! It's her turn! I've apologized to her for six years, five months and four days. It's her turn."
"What if she doesn't know how to apologize?" Moony looked at James.
His head hung low, fingers running back through his hair, glasses askew and foggy. James wasn't in good shape. Hadn't been since his and Lily's fight. Fight over-it seemed so stupid now. He had lied to her, true. But she and her self-righteous pride wouldn't let things drop! Until she said that maybe they shouldn't be together after all. That they had nothing.
"It hurts. Why does it hurt so badly?"
"Because you had her and now you-"
"I've been rejected by her ever since we met. I-it's never hurt this badly before." Slowly, he slid to the Common Room's floor, crying. Really crying. "I-I miss her. I love her."
"Then maybe you should tell Lily instead of me, Pr-" Remus didn't get to finish his sentence; James hugged him tightly enough to knock the air out of him.
"Thanks."
"Now stop moping and call her."
Note: This was in collaboration with Mockingjay1199. In this story, Lily and James fought over James drawing pictures of Lily then denying it and when Lily found out, they blew up at each other, broke up and James got sent to a parallel dimension. They also have cell phones that work across dimensions with them. Long story.
