A/N: Just a short poem, a spur of the moment kind of thing, really. It's describing Suze's feelings in the hospital scene during Twilight. (Dedicated to Sarah)

Miracles Happen

All chances were lost,

All hope was gone.

Pain was expanding,

Despair was arising.

Nurses were sympathizing,

Doctors were giving up.

Panic arises,

Devastation expands.

You can't lose him; you can't.

To the world he may be one person,

But to one person he may be the world.

In your sleep you see him,

Laughing carelessly.

In the bed you see him,

Dying painfully.

He's drifting,

He's falling,

He's leaving,

He's dying.

You close your eyes,

You shudder,

You hold his hand

And murmur,

"I love you".

You're begging,

You're pleading,

You're wishing,

You're trying.

You're stopping,

You're crying.

You touch his drained face,

You see no light,

No energy.

Pale, chalky features hit you hard,

You recoil,

You cry.

You want to look,

You have to look.

Through your tears you see him,

You brush his wispy face.

You want to see him vibrant,

Playing,

Loving,

Alive.

You can't stand to see it,

You can't believe it's him.

He was so happy,

So bright,

So there.

And now you're losing him,

Slowly but surely,

He's leaving.

You bury your face,

You don't know if you can stand it.

You wonder what he ever did,

Why him?

Why now?

You hear a beep,

A rustle,

Voices.

Movement,

Uproar,

A heartbeat.

It's beating,

It's clear,

It's loud,

It's fast.

You open your eyes,

You see commotion.

Doctors running,

Wondering.

How…?

You gasp,

You watch,

They're bringing him back.

He's breathing,

He's talking,

He's smiling,

He's alive.

He's holding your hand,

He's telling you he never left you.

You look in his eyes,

They're loving,

They're caring,

They're living.

He's there,

He's here,

He really is.

And now,

And forever,

You know:

Miracles happen.

A/N: Review and I'll love you.

XOXO,

Mel
