Disclaimer: I do not own Kingdom Keepers, Charlene, Finn, Mrs. Whitman, or anything else of any concern.

I haven't done a KK in a while, but I decided to do one! It's really short, but I hope you like it! Here it is!

Edit: Oh my gosh, I read that I accidentally said Hermione's name in the story and not Charlene's! I'm so sorry... It gets confusing even you write this much!

Charlene Turner ran through the rain, shivering. Her gymnastics practice had gone later then usual, and her mother would be expecting her home in minutes. She was still a mike from home, and had no idea what she was going to say. Sure, the truth wasn't incriminating at all, but Mrs. Turner could be stubborn, and always insisted that Charlene worried her so much when she did not come home.

The rain began to come down in sheets, and Charlene threw her hands over her head, like a makeshift hood. Florida weather was rarely like this, but when it was, it could get to be very bad. Charlene was actually beginning to feel afraid.

By the time Charlene cleared another block, she was so tired and cold that she had to stop. She knew she was being ridiculous, but she honestly felt like her life was in danger here. Hypothermia happened.

It was just then that a car pulled up beside her. Charlene, petrified, leapt back, ready to scream. She was always very cautious.

Suddenly, the window rolled down on the right side. "Charlene!" Finn shouted. "It's thirty-eight degrees and pouring! We'll drive you home!"

Charlene saw Mrs. Whitman beckoning at her in the driver's seat. She was so relieved that she sprinted to the car and climbed into the backseat. "Finn, Mrs. Whitman! Thank you so much! I thought I was gonna die or something!"

Mrs. Whitman smiled, but Finn seemed up understand well enough what she meant. After all, he had been in many life-threatening situations. "Well, you're welcome," he said. "It's lucky we came, I guess?"

Charlene laughed. "Yup! It really is, Finn," she added warmly. "I don't know what I'd have done."

Charlene was so relieved to be rescued, she was startled when Mrs. Whitman pulled up in front of her house. She pretended not to have been and jumped up. "Thank you again, so so much! It was so nice of you!"

Mrs. Whitman smiled and shook her head and Finn grinned. As Charlene approached her front door, she heard the car door open again and Finn came hurrying up to her. "I'll text you," he said. "I don't know if we ought to cross over tonight, if it's this cold."

"We can wear layers," Charlene protested instantly. She had been looking forward to crossing over again. It had been a few days, and they were still searching for Wayne. "And keep under covers as much as possible."

Finn smiled, but looked apprehensive. "What will we even do?" he said. "We'll just be fighting the rain and be useless."

Charlene shook her head. "You know that's not true."

There was a silence, then Finn said mischievously, "See you tonight, Charlene."

As he walked away, Charlene ran back and kissed him on the cheek. "See you," she said, half-giggling.

Finn smiled. "See you," he said back. "Tonight."

Charlene waved as they drove off, wondering why Mrs. Whitman was looking so smug in the car.

Did you like it? I hope so!

Please review! I hope it was factually right, as I haven't read KK in a while... But I know they were looking for Wayne in Book 3, so uv guess that's when this is? I think...
