Hello my lovelies! First TLK fan fiction here! *headbangs*

I think this concept has been done before, but I felt like writing it anyways. :D

Will-blueheron93 does not own TLK or any characters and blah blah blah *flies away because he's a badass flying turtle and he CAN*

I wish I had a sister. Vitani mused. Watching her elder brother bite his rear end wasn't exactly an appealing day-to-day activity, and Kovu wasn't what one would call the brightest star in the sky either.

Vitani rolled her eyes when she heard Kovu yell. She had told him not to play by that hole. It was just big enough for him to get stuck in.

Boys. It seemed to her that they just never learned. They were dirty and smelly and dumb. They always did silly things, no matter how many times they were warned against it.

It would be nice to have another girl to talk to, someone her own age.

"Help!" Kovu shouted in a muffled voice.

"Kovu, shut up!" Vitani figured that she should probably help him out, but she was deep in thought and didn't feel like being bothered. The cub could be selfish when she was contemplating her life.

"Vitani! Help!" Kovu whined again. Vitani scowled, but stalked over to help her brother anyway.

Nuka continued scratching himself. Gross.

"How are you gonna beat Simba if you can't even get out of a hole?" Vitani taunted cruelly.

"Vitani!" Kovu whined.

"All right, all right."

I bet a sister wouldn't have gotten stuck. Vitani thought. The sister she fantasized of would listen to her advice, and have her own to offer. She would be pretty, with big eyes and a kind smile. She would be strong and healthy, not bone-thin like the malnourished Outlanders. She would be younger, but not by too much. And she would want to play with Vitani every day.

And she would be smart enough not to get stuck in a stupid hole. Vitani thought as she helped her brother.

Vitani fell down on the ground and closed her eyes. Her sister would have soft golden fur…

"Tag!" Kovu shouted, tapping her with his paw.

"What?" Vitani hissed, irritated that her daydream had been interrupted once again.

"It's a game," said Kovu.

"How do you play?"

"I'm…I'm not really sure," Kovu mumbled. "But I thought it would be fun." Vitani chuckled. Whatever it was, it did seem like fun…

"Kovu!" Their mother's sharp voice called. Kovu groaned and ran off to Zira. Vitani sighed. Kovu, annoying as he was, was her only play mate. Nuka never wanted to play with her, and he was no fun anyway. Kovu was all she had, and lately, he always had to go off with their mother and train.

My sister would be able to play with me all the time. She would teach me how to play that game, the one Kovu was talking about…

Loosing Nuka and Zira had brought sorrow to both Vitani and Kovu. All the same, Vitani hadn't seen Kovu smile so much since they were cubs. Despite everything, he was happy.

It was Kiara, and Vitani was well aware of that. Kiara was the one who brought a smile to her brother's face.

And as much as she would hate to admit it, Kiara often brought a smile to Vitani's face as well.

She's like the sister I never had…

Well, how'd I do? I feel like it could be better, but not bad, I guess.

I tried to work with Vitani's cruel side, as well as her sweeter side, because I like that she has both; I think it makes her a better character.
