Title: When You Were Mine

Rating: PG (K+)

Pairing: Leah / Sam

Summary: When you were putting up the lights this year, did you notice one less pair of hands?

Please take down the mistletoe
Cause I don't want to think about that right now
Cause everything I want is miles away
In a snow covered little town
Mama's in the kitchen worrying about me
Seasons greetings hope you're well
I'm doing alright if you were wondering
Lately I can never tell

I've been doing fine without you, really
Up until the nights got cold
Everybody's here except you, baby
Seems like everyone's got someone to hold

But for me it's just a lonely time
Cause there were Christmases when you were mine

-Taylor Swift 'Christmases When You Were Mine'

The noise and busyness inside the house were too much for her to handle. The smell of pumpkin pie made her want to gag, and the bright lights Seth was hanging around the house were giving her a migraine (along with the bubbly Christmas music being blasted on the radio). This Christmas thing was being overdone by her mother and brother. Don't get her wrong, she used to love the holiday, once upon a time, but now things were different. The absences of the ones she loved most were making her dizzy. She stepped out of the tiny house and made her way to First Beach. Sitting on the sand, not at all concerned with the cold wind, she let out a choked sob. Everything was missing; the deep laugh from the living room, the sweet kisses underneath the mistletoe, and most of all, the three simple words that made her so sure of anything and everything. And now, now it was gone. The one thing she wanted for Christmas, no amount of money could buy. It was priceless, or more like he was priceless. "There were Christmases when you were mine, Sam."

Okay; not my best. But I got this idea while listening to Taylor's Christmas Album. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing. I'm in a Christmas kind of mood, so I might post more.
