Meeting

Raltz touched his left antenna with his right hand, what was left of it at least. He had multiple bandages on, covering the worst of his recent wounds. He winced as a phantom pain lanced through his missing left arm. He was broken and bruised, but still alive. Surely the Irken army could put him to some use! His room was quiet as the rest of the solders got their minor wounds patched and were sent on their way. The now familiar sound of a door opening made him look over at his two guests. He recognized the small doctor; the poor guy was only half as tall as him. The other was a little better off then the doctor, but still shorter then Raltz. Raltz grinned lopsidedly.

"What can I do for ya, Doc?"

The doctor shifted nervously and looked at the new Irken. He was a pale color, even for an Irken. He wore a red shirt with a high collar that covered his moth most of the time. His eyes were a pale sky blue that held a cold intelligence. His pants were a simple long cut of black, as were his boots, when he took a step forward Raltz saw a metal sheath that cover most of boot except the toe and heel. The doctor cleared his throat.

"This is Sek, Sek this is Raltz."

Sek bowed as the doctor all but ran out the door. Sek looked at Raltz with a blank face, though Raltz thought he saw a little distain.

"I've been chosen by the tallest to partner with you, due to your… accident."

Raltz stared at the new comer with a frown. Irken's did not work in pair! Maybe large groups if that many are needed, but never groups! Before Raltz could say anything Sek spoke again.

"I did not want this… job, nor do I think it's necessary for a elite Irken soldier to wasted the talents of an archivist."

He sighed and closed his eyes.

"But I'll do as the tallest say, so I believe we are stuck together."

Raltz had to smirk at this. Sek raised an eye in question. Raltz showed most of his teeth as his smiled venomously at Sek.

"We agree there, Bookworm."

A Sir unit ran out from behind a curtain and stood next to Raltz's in a salute. Raltz pointed at it.

"Is that yours?"

Sek smiled and moved his hands in a series of quick motions. The sir unit responded with more hand motions and went back to its hiding spot.

"Yes, he is. That is my Sir unit, Bookworm."

"You named it Bookworm."

Sek pulled on his collar as if the room was hot.

"No, he chose that name. He likes to read."

Raltz shook his head.

"Is something wrong?"

Raltz jerk as thumb over to a corner. Sek saw a have melted Sir unit being repaired by a automated machine.

"Blast over there hates books."

Sek blinked.

"How is that a problem?"

"He hates even seeing one."

"Oh. Well I guess we're going to have to learn to work that out."

"I'm guessin' there's a lot we're gonna have to work out."

Sek folded his pulled out a chair and sat down. He folded his hands in his lap and cocked his head.

"Well at least we agree on two things."

Raltz laughed and grinned at his new partner.

"You ain't half bad, Sek."

"You may not be that horrible either, Raltz."
