Disclaimer: I do not own Loveless. But I wish I did. Does that count?
Author's note: Yeah, this is a bit sad, I guess. Fits my mood.

Blood slowly drips down the old wooden planks bound together in the shape of a crude cross. A tall blonde figure hangs limply from the boards, hands and feet nailed to the lumber, his breathing becoming more and more shallow. Another lanky figure two yards away with black and bluish hair covering his eyes stares up at the dying figure on the crucifix. In his arms is a child with like hair, attempting to break free from the larger's grasp. Violet eyes shimmer and drown with tears as a scream erupts from his throat.
"Soubi!!!"
The blonde, with tremendous effort, barely lifts his head and locks eyes with the child. Soubi manages a faint whisper.
"Rit...Ritsuka... Remember that...I love... you..."
The child Ritsuka pulls with all his might against the body behind him, but to no avail. He tries to break his arms free yet only succeeds in having them held more tightly. He yells out,
"Seimei, let me go! Let Soubi go! Please!!"
Seimei chuckles malevolently as he draws Ritsuka closer to him and whispers in his ear.
"Not a chance, my Ritsuka. It's time for him to die now, and there's nothing you nor he can do about it."
Soubi's head slowly droops down, hanging slightly above his chest. Blood from the wounds oozes continuously down the cross, forming a small pool at the base. Drawing a final, shuddering breath, Soubi glances up one last time at Ritsuka, a tear forming in his eye and gliding down his cheek. He exhales slowly, and his head slumps down against his chest. The life in Soubi's eyes gently fades away.
A grin crosses Seimei's face as his hidden eyes look down at the weeping form in his arms. He releases Ritsuka, who immediately drops to his knees. The child sobs uncontrollably as he lifts his head to see the lifeless body of his Fighter and lover, dangling from the rough wooden cross. Ritsuka sits down and brings his knees to his face as he continues to weep.
Seimei steps past Ritsuka and stops a foot away from Soubi's body, brushing his hair out of his eyes to look closer. He chuckles softly, and turns to face Ritsuka.
"His life force has faded, Ritsuka. Faded away...evanescence...such a sad word, isn't it?"
Ritsuka could only squeeze his legs tighter to his body in sorrow, knowing that he would never again see the one he loved.
