This story is a request from Orangebird124. He says he ships Anger and Sadness very hard. I don't know if emotions have dreams or not, and I normally don't ship Anger with Sadness. I normally ship him with Disgust.

It is a stormy night in San Francisco. It has been several days since Riley Anderson and her family moved here. Riley is learning to get used to her new home.

She is sleeping peacefully in her bed. The rain, thunder and lightning outside didn't keep her awake.

Inside her mind, her emotions are asleep as well. But one of them, Sadness, was grunting and groaning in her sleep. She is having a nightmare.

In her dream, Sadness wakes up to find herself outside the labyrinthine storage area of Riley's long-term memories. As she looked around, she called, "Hello? Anyone there?" She received no reply.

"Joy? Anger?"

A second after she called Anger's name, she heard loud screeching coming from somewhere. "Guys?"

The only reply she got was the sounds of wings fluttering and screeching. She turns in the direction of the sounds and saw a flock of bats with sinister yellow eyes flying towards her.

She screamed in fright and started running for her life with the bats chasing her. She runs throughout Imagination Land with the bats following close behind her.

One bat gets close to her and grabs her shirt with its teeth and picks her up off the ground. Sadness struggles and breaks free from the bat's grasp.

She continues to run until she is forced to stop at the edge of a cliff over the Memory Dump. The bats start to get closer and closer to Sadness.

She creates a cloud and flies on it. Suddenly, bats fly towards her in every direction, leaving her with no escape. The bats surround her and open their mouths, ready to strike her with their sharp teeth. Sadness screamed at the top of her lungs.

Joy and Anger heard Sadness' scream and rushed to her room. Anger quickly opened the door to Sadness' room and went over to her bed.

"Sadness, wake up!" Anger exclaimed, trying to wake Sadness up.

Sadness suddenly bolted up in her bed with a gasp. She looked around and saw Joy and Anger by her side. Then she started crying loud and hard.

"What's going on here?" Anger asked with concern. "What happened?"

"I was outside the labyrinthine storage, and a bunch of bats chased me," Sadness responded tearfully.

"Don't worry, Sadness," Joy said as she comforted her friend. "It was only a dream. There's are no bats in Riley's mind. And there's no way you will be chased by them."

Sadness didn't respond and continued to cry her eyes out. Anger went over to Sadness and tries to console her. As he did, he stroked Sadness' hair and wiped her tears away.

"It's going to be okay, Sadness," Joy assured Sadness. "Let me try singing to help calm you down."

The stars are out, the moon is up
It's time to go to bed
I'm so glad you have a place
To lay your little head

Have a deep and peaceful sleep
Dream away the hours
When you wake, the sun will come
To smile upon the flowers

Go to sleep, my little friend
Beneath the evening star
You will always have a friend
No matter where you are

Joy's singing calmed Sadness down and smiled weakly.

"All better now?" Anger asked.

"Yeah," Sadness replied.

"Good." Anger walked back to his room. Joy was about to return to her room when Sadness asked, "Joy, will you stay with me tonight?"

"Absolutely," Joy replied. She climbed into Sadness' bed and snuggled next to her.

"Good night, Joy," Sadness whispered.

"Good night, Sadness," Joy replied.

The two emotions are now sleeping peacefully together throughout the night.
