Remus found it hard to believe that all those years he hadn't once doubted that Sirius had been guilty. He should at least have given his friend – and more than just an average friend, he was – the benefit of the doubt. Ever since he found out about Sirius' innocence he had been really angry at himself. He could have spared his one time lover all those years in Azkaban. They could have been happy together. Hell, they could have raised Harry together and given him the childhood he deserved. He would at least have heard all their stories about Lilly and James. He would have grown up knowing he was a wizard.

Remus couldn't do anything but feeling guilty and hopeless, because he had surely ruined the bond he and Sirius once had.

On a cloudy morning he went out to do some shopping in Diagon Alley. He needed some new quills and some decent clothes. After all he had to go job hunting now that he lost his job again. Not that he regretted teaching at Hogwarts, it had been a really good year. He had gotten paid well and he really felt as if he had taught the kids something they would have to use in the future. Because after all, the future of the wizarding world didn't look so bright.

As he entered the second hand clothing store, he had a feeling someone was watching him, but he shook it of as a daydream. He was lucky today, they had a suite that had only been worn once. The price was still a bit higher than he would have wanted, but than he would just skip a meal today. And after all it would only benefit him if it helped him get a job.

After stuffing the package in his bag, he headed over to a pub at the end of diagonally that had just opened. He ordered a drink and opened the newspaper that he got by owl-order that morning. It pained him to see the wanted-picture for Sirius in front. If he hadn't been looking for a job, he would have canceled his subscription to the Daily Prophet, because he couldn't stand Sirius looking so haunted.

He skimmed through the paper an circled a few job-ads, before paying for his drink and going outside.
