Halo, Times forgot.
The Arbiter watches as the covenant ships retreated, leaving behind the mess they started. So, arrogant, so un honorable. He had safely guided Spartan Locke to his destination, now it was all up to Osiris to find the chief. "Brother, we have won! Why do you seem displeased?" said a swords of sangheilios warrior. "Hm? I can assure you I am pleased, I don't know what you mean." "You seem to have been staring off into the great beyond." Arbiter shook his head, "Brother, I am just slightly tired, let's go back to base." The elite walked away, barking the Arbiters orders to the fellow members of the squad. Arbiter remembered the times he and the demon had shared. It was like a distant dream now. But he sometimes remembered what it had been like.
.:: Years ago, Halo 3::.
Master Chief walked past some marines, sparking a quick salute from them. He had been known for destroying the halo ring, and saving the world. But now he was forced to work with an Elite known as the Arbiter. Everyone has great respect for the Chief. "Man, it never gets old, huh?" said Johnson, suddenly walking next to the Spartan. "what?" he replied gruffly. "getting saluted, respected." The Spartan grinned under his helmet. "your jealous, aren't you?" John took out one of his cigars and lit it, "Course not." The two walked to the barracks, reloading their lost ammo. "Well, see ya later Chief. I got to go help a squad nearby." The Chief nodded as Johnson walked away, still smoking. The Arbiter happened to be going to the barracks too, accidently bumping into Johnson. "Hey! Watch yourself!" he growled, his cigar now on the floor. "I did not see you, human." The two stared at each other, death staring. Johnson walked past the Elite, purposely elbowing his arm before he left. "He is a hot- head. I wouldn't cross him if I were you", Said Master Chief. The Arbiters mandibles resembled a frown, "So am I", he replied. The two filled up their weapons and belts with ammunition silently. The Sangheili watched the Chief, something about him made the Arbiter feel something deep inside his chest, an energy. "So, demon, tell me, do you fight for respect?" The Spartan cocked his head to the side, "No, maybe your kind does, but I do it for the fate of humans everywhere." The Arbiter stood, "Do you not fight for us rebellious sangheili also?"
"well, I suppose so." Master Chief then stood up himself. "Our species may not live in peace together. But we can learn from the other." Stated Arbiter. "now it's my turn to ask you something. Why did you ask me that question?" The Spartan asked with an edge in his voice. The Arbiter turned towards the doorway, "I wish to learn much about you as you wish to know about me..." The chief stayed silent as the elite left the room.
