Bella's POV
Edward and Jacob faced each other. They looked like they were about to kill each other. The pack and the other Cullens made a circle around them. Everyone was tense. I stood in between them with my hands on their chests to keep them apart.
"Why can't you two coexist peacefully?" I asked tears pouring out of my eyes.
"Get out of the way Bella!" Edward said sternly.
Someday, life will be fairer,
Need will be rarer,
And greed will not pay.
Edward's POV
I did not want Bella to get hurt, I needed her. What kind of world would allow me to be so greedy and still keep her? I would not lose this fight, I couldn't lose this fight. My angel was standing between the mutt and I "Get out of the way, Bella" I told her she just stared at me.
Godspeed this bright millennia,

"Emmett get her out of the way." I told my brother.
"You better know what you are doing Edward." Emmett thought giving me a warning look. The pack and my siblings had finally decided to let me and Jacob settle this on our own a fight to the death. Emmett took Bella's arm and pulled her out of the way.
"Your move mutt." I snarled.

There are some days, dark and bitter,
Bella's POV
I watched Jacob shift into a werewolf and lunge at my Edward. I tried to run between them again, but Emmett had me by my waist. They both growled loudly and I screamed. Alice turned me around so that my face was to Emmett's chest. I couldn't see the fight, but I sure could hear it.
Seems we haven't got a prayer,
But a prayer for something better,
Is the one thing we all share.
"Please let this end soon" I prayed crying into Emmett's shirt. He hugged me like any big brother would in my time of need. Alice's hand found mine and I squeezed it tightly. Then I heard the most sickening sound ever, the sound of snapping bone. I cried not wanting to turn around and see who the loser was.

Soon after Edwardtook me from Emmett and let me cry till I was ready to face what had happened. I turned around and saw Jacob lying on the ground motionless, his neck snapped. I shuddered as tears poured down my face. I cradled Jacob's head and cried. Edward held me tight and allowed me to cry my tears. I heard great howl, the wolves were morning there fallen brother

Edward picked me up bridal style and ran. He knew that he needed to get me out of there fast or I would lose it very quickly.

"I can't believe he is gone." Charlie said sadly "Fell out of a tree and landed on his neck that does not sound like Jake" I cried all the more because I knew why my best friend was really dead.

On the way home I was suddenly filled with peace that I knew could only come from Jacob. I knew that everything would be alright…
