Note: I just got this idea and really had to write it. It's set at the end of Everything Changes, and shows what I think Jack would be feeling when he dies. Hope you enjoy! Please review either way – I'd love to hear what you think. Comments, criticisms, anything. Thanks =D Oh, and the dialogue at the end is actually from the episode, so yeah. I didn't write that lol.

Darkness
The last thing Jack felt before the bullet ripped through his skull was shock that his own team member had fired the gun at him. Then he slipped into the darkness, yet again.
That's all there was after death... that empty darkness that stretched on forever. Except... in the distance... there was a prescience that seemed to lurk, waiting, just waiting for Jack to stay in this void for long enough for it to claim him.
Every time he died he experienced the same anticipation, the same fears. Would this be the time that the prescience worked its way closer and would finally manage to get him within its grasp? Or would he wake up in the daylight, as usual, gasping for air? To be honest, he wasn't sure which he would prefer. He knew many people would give anything for his immortality, but he wasn't so sure it was a gift. To live forever, seeing everyone you love grow and die. It made him feel so alone.
Light.
Gasp.
Life. He felt more alive than ever.
Jack quickly assessed the scene in front of him. He was back in the light. Admittedly not much – it was still night, but it was a huge contrast to the utter darkness he had just experienced. And Suzie, the team member who had betrayed him – killed him even, was now pointing her gun towards that innocent (if somewhat nosy) police officer, Gwen Cooper. He stepped behind her:
"Put down the gun." The hole in his head closed over as Suzie and Gwen looked at him disbelievingly.
"Suzie, it's over." He held out his hand. It would all be down to this – he could help her, he knew it.
"Now come with me." He waited expectantly, hand still raised.
And then it was over. Unlike him, Suzie would not recover from the gunshot she had just inflicted on herself. So now he was left, one team member down and a terrified police officer who had just seen him come back from the dead.
It was just another day at Torchwood.
