Lily was a liar. But as she was having trouble breathing normally at the moment due to a certain persons mouth doing glorious things to her neck she didn't really care whether she a liar or not. As she was contemplating her obvious lack of self control she was brought back to attention by the certain mouth nipping at the sensitive spot underneath her jaw causing Lily to gasp in shock
"Lily?" James asked, pulling away from her neck with a worried expression on his face, "Did I hurt you?" flitting his hands lightly over her neck and shoulders.
Lily answered him by blinking through her blissful daze and grabbing the back of his head and smashing her lips to his once again. James moaned in appreciation and kissed her back with equal enthusiasm. As she ran her hands through his wild hair relishing the soft waves and curls and scraping her nails against his scalp she was reminded of the conversation she had with James just a few minutes before and if she wasn't enjoying herself so much at that moment she would have cringed in embarrassment.
5 minutes earlier:
"Hey Evans!" James called from across the empty corridor.
"I thought you said that there were no patrols for us tonight?" he asked frowning.
"Well I did say that..." Lily replied, pausing slightly and biting her lip, "I…I said that… YOU didn't have any but I….I went ahead and did it" she said sheepishly.
"How was she going to explain any of this?" Lily thought horrified.
"Why would you do that?" James asked incredulously, "Is it because you couldn't stand another moment alone with me without snogging the daylights out of me?" he smirked sarcastically in her direction.
Lily stared at him and flushed dark red before blurted out a quick "no" all the while her entire being screamed yes. She was honestly lying through her teeth. That was EXACTLY the reason she didn't want to do patrols with him that night. Patrolling with James Potter had been torture as of late. His smell drove her mad, and since he usually was just coming back from the Quidditch pitch having just showered it nearly killed her to smell his fresh cologne every night. To see him running his hands through his wet hair, laughing and smiling with that smirk of his was almost driving Lily to insanity and she had to stop it!
So yes, Lily was lying blatantly when she said she hadn't cancelled his patrol with him because she was basically going to attack him, and she didn't know how much longer she could be a liar before she snapped and really did attack him. So as James walked her back through the corridors and made small talk with her it became increasingly difficult for her to not tackle him right there.
As they meandered down a hallway they stopped in front of a large tapestry while James proceeded to relayed to her a story about how Sirius got stuck in the girls lavatory. But Lily wasn't paying attention to his tale, rather she was fixated on the water droplet that had paused right below the space behind his ear. She tracked it meticulously as it slid slowly down the length of his tanned neck and slipped into the neckline of his shirt.
She was pulled from her daze when she heard her name come from him. She looked up to see him looking at her with a funny expression and as she looked at his face she saw another water droplet fall from his hair and land on his upper lip. That's when she lost it. Lily grabbed the front of his robes before he could make a sound and dragged him to the nearest classroom and proceeded to push him up against the door and lick that damn water droplet from his lips. The rest of the patrol was consumed with snogging the daylights out of him. But he didn't seem to mind.
Yes Lily was a liar and she knew it, but as James stroked Lily's tongue with his own and slipped his hands around her back and pressed their waists closer together she concluded that she didn't mind being one.
