Hey guys, so if you were reading Blood Filled Kisses. I'm so sorry for the incredibly long delay. I hit a major wall when I realised that I had to make everyone who has a devil fruit power pair up with either another character or another OC. So I spent some time revising the plot and finally did come up with something which should hopefully make sense in the story's world. I also realised that I made Yuki Mary Sue, and I sure as hell don't want that. Also make it so she doesn't have a dark past (She was taken in by Donflamingo and was a part of his crew till Smoker came). It'll be similar yet different at the same time. Thanks for the reviews and follows and I hope you guys enjoy reading the revised version.
Evolution
Humans today have come a long way, we are not the same species we were 6 million years ago. With time we hit important milestones such as walking upright, making tools and developing our cognitive ability and communication. We stood as the most advanced life forms in existence, however; this claim was threatened when a certain cataclysm occurred over a hundred years ago.
It began with minor incidents such as crazy weather patterns or freak explosions but it was of no concern to both public and government. Then rumours and tales of 'magical' individuals were beginning to arise but no one took them seriously. Not until a rising criminal group had a 'magical' individual amongst them. When the police tried to suppress the criminals they were utterly and devastatingly destroyed by one human with arms made out of rock. It sounds crazy I know but that story travelled like wild fire around the seas.
Talking about the irrational, news of people getting attacked and having their blood drained from them was reaching everyone's ears with speed.
'The Rise of Demons and Vampires'
That was the headline back then. Of course this chased the world into chaos as sadly humans had always had an aversion to anything unknown and different. There was at first wide-spread panic as humans became distrustful of one another, unsure who was a human and who was a 'magical' being. Then a high rise in imprisonment, and once this hand was dealt, war seemed inevitable. It had been dark times. Luckily, there were some humans and special beings that found a mutual understanding and respect for each other and were fighting for peace. There was one iconic special individual who fought outstandingly for peace. He spoke up to official representatives, governments and gained a lot of supporters but he was captured and executed by a rogue group of humans.
The cruel devil spawns filmed and broadcasted the execution to the world. But his final words were for everyone to live in peace and not to curse the change but to be thankful for it. Those words were inspiring and were enough to quell the thirst for war. Science thankfully developed enough by then and everyone now understood that humans had evolved into something incredible. These special beings were humans with an enhanced DNA strain that improved them biologically. So they were named Human X. Not to mention, more astonishing and almost hallucinatory was that some of these special beings had supernatural abilities which was due to an extra gene in their DNA which goes by the name 'Devil Gene'. That's the demons all sorted.
The vampires, well they're essentially a Human X but their bodies were not strong enough to cope with the enhanced mechanism of their body and so they had to rely on a power, aka human blood. These beings were christened 'Contractor' because when they drink the blood of a human, a powerful and permanent bond is established between them. Basically, a contract where the human is required to supply the contractor with their blood for as long as they live hence the name Supplier and without it, Contractors simply died.
As soon as this was recognised it was a slow progress to full peace. There were many peace meetings and negotiations, with many human officials reluctantly bowing their heads in apology to Contractors and Xs. But finally with the wave of a magic wand they call politics, all was resolved, Xs and Contractors were able to live alongside humans and it was now law for humans to make a blood contract when required. There were many laws in favour of the Contractors and Xs, but consequently punished humans if they broke the law. Obviously this was to erase the years of violence against the Contractors and Xs but there will always be animosity between all three groups and thus schools were introduced to house everyone. It was a smart idea; it helped promote and encouraged positive relationships with each other and improved the future.
This idea of integration and unity was embraced in all schools with enthusiasm, except for the one I attended. Water Seven Academy. It was one of the most prestigious schools in all of East Blue; its former status wore down when the school began to house students from Upper Yard, which you could describe as downtown or if you were young and hip 'the ghetto'. I'm not 100% sure why most students from Upper Yard were deviants, didn't matter who they were; human or special being, they all had no qualms about fighting and most were more than happy to start one with whoever pissed them off in the slightest. But honestly, half the time it takes nothing to piss an X from Upper Yard off.
While all schools were allowed access to student's medical files and were responsible of matching Contractors with humans of the same blood type. My school most unquestionably stood out amongst other schools due to accepting students from any background, while other schools had a strict screening process. There was a training arena for Xs, Contractors and surprisingly humans in the upper school building. I can't see a human using it but it was so special beings could safely test and practice controlling their powers. Most people believed that the use of powers should be discouraged but nope, not our headmaster.
The school itself was good, and the lessons taught by top-notch teachers, some annoying then others. There was just a few bad things that can make school life difficult for some pupils. For example a lot of the Xs believed they stood on top of the school hierarchy and treated everyone else like dirt. This in turn causes Contractors to strike back with violence, more so if they had a 'Devil Gene' which puts them on par with Xs. Most Contractors left humans alone and wouldn't attack humans unless they felt that a human irked their wrath while quite a few Xs bullied humans.
No doubt humans were weaker and could do nothing physicall y violent against the special beings but they can be cruel and sneaky. They fought back by scribbling the walls at school with words of hate against the special beings and destroying their belongings. Then on top of all this, there was the average, everyday bullying.
I've attended this school for about four years now and I've miraculously been able to stay out of the trouble that constantly simmers in school. I was no grovelling nerd that hid in the library nor was I a badass lone wolf. I consider myself normal, a bit on the quiet side, possibly awkward in certain situations. But generally I was friendly or at least civil to everyone around me and I had no enemies, not that I was aware of anyway. I have an ordinary school life and I intend to keep it that way.
But sometimes life can be unfair….
