A/N: This is my first fic! Yay!!! I've had this for awhile, but I'm just now posting it. It's a little poetic (short of) one shot based on Kenshin's beliefs in the OVA. Any and all reviews are welcome!!!
In Darkness
I walk through the darkness...
Always in darkness.
I creep in and out of the shadows
stalking my prey.
They do not notice me...
They never do.
Until it is too late
and they are dead
I strike before they can defend themselves,
Before they can even scream.
I kill without thinking.
I murder without regret.
Some say I murder innocent people,
but these dogs I slay are be no means innocent.
They feed of their fellow man and act as if
They had a right to.
The people cry for justice
And I will deal it with my blood stained sword.
I will slay them all
until the people of Japan are free from oppression.
I will destroy the lives of those who, in turn,
destroy the lives of people below them everyday.
I will...
I will continue to cause the bloody rain to fall
Until a time comes when there is no need for it.
I will kill and in doing so
allow Japan to live again.
