The Moment of the Day
A moment at the beach. Post-Shelter. Zach's PoV. Fluffy flash fiction.
A/N: I just watched this movie the other night, and I loved it! The next day, I was bored in class and this is what I ended up doing instead of my vocab packet. :]
He runs his fingers through my damp hair, causing all of my body to tingle with excitement. His hearty laugh competes with the waves, and I can't help but grin. A warmth swells in me as he pulls me closer. When he takes my lips in his, I can taste the ocean. Only when we separate, can I feel my heart pulsating throughout my person. My eyes flit open to see his still closed. A smile spreads across my face, and I let out a chuckle that breaks his serene face into concern. His eyebrows question me, and I throw an arm over his shoulders. Pulling him down to the sand with me, we laugh. As we roll around, the soft, tan grain sticks to our wet suits. I brush some off his upper arm. A sigh filled with contentment escapes my lips.
We're still tangled; me on my back – a hand on his neck. His arms supporting his frame – an ankle locked with mine. His eyes shift about my features. "You're beautiful," he whispers.
I look up at his eyes. "Shaun," I say, sincerity rippling across my face and affection radiating from me, "I love you."
