*sigh* ...I have nothing to say, really. I just want some inspiration for my Zelda fic...
I don't own Fire Emblem.

Lord Raymond was not a man who smiled often.
Oftentimes people would ask him why he smiled so little, to which he would reply that he saw nothing to smile about. Most people would merely dismiss him as a depressing young man and ignore him.
But not Priscilla.
Priscilla looked up to her brother as a hero, and treated him like a king. She may have been a bit overbearing at times, but she was always sincere. She wanted to be the best sister she could, to make sure that Lord Raymond became the best marquess Lycia had ever seen.
So when house Cornwell fell and Raymond disappeared, Priscilla decided she would go out and find him. It took her many years, but eventually she decided it was time to begin. Raven, of course, was aware of her efforts, and was impressed by his sister's bravery.
And when she found him, a brief smile crossed his face.

Raymond was not fond of smiling.
Lucius knew this, of course, but he tried his hardest to make it happen. Raymond told him that there was no point in trying, and that everyone eventually gave up.
But not Lucius.
He would not give up on his goal, no matter what. It was his job both as a holy man and as a friend to make Raymond happy. He would always try his best. Raymond knew this, of course, and was aware of how much Lucius cared.
And when he thought about it, he allowed himself a small grin.

Raven did not smile to her.
Fiora did not understand why he never did, as she had seen him smile to others. It was a rare occurrence, true, but she knew it had happened. Everyone in the army had received a smile, no matter how small, at least once.
But not Fiora.
She tried to tell herself it didn't matter to her, that it was no big deal. But that fact was that she did care, and when she saw him chuckle at Rebecca's feeble attempts to restring her bow, she decided she had to know. She brought Raven aside and asked him why, even after they had been friends for so long, she had not ever received a smile.
Raven looked away and replied that he was just not the type of person to smile. Fiora, however, pressed on, telling him she had seen him smile before. He merely shook his head. Not one, he replied, had been sincere.
Fiora looked at him and remembered the loss of her fellow knights, and realized how Raven had to be feeling. So before she knew entirely what she was doing, she hugged him, tears welling up in her eyes.
Raven was slightly taken aback, but slowly he returned the gesture. And he smiled.

I know I've questioned the quality of my fics before, but this is probably the first one I'm legitimately unsure of...
Eh. Oh well. Review anyway, for my sake!
