Everyone seemed to walk on eggshells when it came to Hotch. Ever since George Foyet had sent Hotch's life into a tailspin the team had treated him with kid gloves. JJ had to admit to herself that she did it as well even though she pretended she didn't. However after the New Mexico case Hotch seemed to be more relaxed, which was a good sign.

He also seemed to be flirting with Emily, which wasn't.

It wasn't like she didn't think Hotch deserved to be happy, because he did. JJ just wanted to keep his recently demoted mitts of her......whatever they were. Emily and her seemed to be in a holding pattern since Henry was born, and JJ knew it was partly her fault. She was the one who made the choice. She was the one who chose.

That didn't make it any easier to watch Hotch flirt with Emily and Emily to flirt back. They seemed to be in the same holding pattern that Emily and her had once been in, except Hotch seemed to have no qualms about making that final move.

JJ wasn't sure how she felt about that. A part of her still thought of Emily as hers even though they never really went anywhere with their relationship. Emily had left it up to her, gave her the final choice. She was still leaving it up to her.

Will or her.

And now JJ wasn't sure she made the right one.

JJ was confused. Up until Foyette happened JJ was secure in her choice. Now everything had gone to hell. However she knew one thing as a stone cold fact.

Emily deserved to be chosen first.

JJ knew she was running out of time.

It didn't matter anymore how confused she was.

If she didn't chose Emily soon, someone else would.

And that someone might just be Aaron Hotchner.
