A column of air descended from the sky, creating the effect of waves in the thick summer grass.
The vast summer sky was a never ending blanket cast over the two lovers and long time friends.
They laid together in the grass, listening to the wind fly over them in a hiss and disappear over the horizon, leaving the walls of Konoha to become a hot draft in Suna or a sea breeze in Nami no Kuni.

''It's so nice out here,'' Sakura chimed.
Naruto 'mm'd' in agreement.

''Summers in Konohagakure are the best...''

The two continued their lounging for a while longer, enjoying each other's company.

Sakura glanced at Naruto. A smile grew on her face as she traced his features with her emerald eyes.

Out of the blue, she said,
''Naruto... let's have a baby.''

He blanched. Taking a minute to relearn how to speak, he stuttered ''A-a baby... what?''

Sakura giggled.

''What do you mean 'a baby what?'''

He swallowed hard.

''L... like, a baby dog, or a baby... fish?''

She turned her head and eyed him critically.

''What the hell are you...? No, I meant...''

She rolled over so that she was propped up on her elbows, looking directly at Naruto.

''I mean... OUR baby, you know... human.''

His entire face flushed, and Sakura could see she had caught him off guard. She placed a sweet kiss on his cheek, then returned to her previous position.

''It's been five years... we're pretty stable financially... Naruto, I think we should really consider it.''

No words came from him, and Sakura eventually assumed he wasn't ready for this conversation. There was an uneasy silence between the two, until Naruto said ''Hey, Sakura... let's talk about this again tonight, okay?''

She didn't need to see his face to know he was grinning.

''Perv,'' she mumbled, nudging him gently. Though she couldn't hold back a grin of her own.

''Tonight it is, then.''
