Sakura
was always a good student. Back in her academy days, and even after,
she was known for her exceptional listening skills and ability to
learn so quickly.
She would listen closely as Iruka explained the
effects wind patterns had on a shuriken's flight path, or when
Tsunade was explaining to her how to convert her chakra into a
medicinal aura.
Sakura listened especially well when Kakashi told
her anything, realizing how wise he was and seeing that the advice he
gave her would help her in life.
One piece or advice he'd given
her she remembered especially well;
Never let your guard down.
Sakura would keep that in the back of her mind always, applying it where it was needed on missions. In fact, it was applied to all facets of her life.
But even with the constant application of this advice, always keeping it in mind and close to her heart, she found herself failing to follow the advice.
She had let her guard down.
Never once did Sakura think that Naruto would steal her heart. She let her guard down, and it just happened.
It always JUST HAPPENED.
Like when she gave into him, and finally let herself fall in love.
It just happened.
Like the morning she woke up in his bed, the night before an impulsive, passionate, stupid, wonderful act.
She'd let her guard down.
It was a wonderful mistake. She didn't remember how she got there or why she let him have her, it just happened.
'I will never let my guard down again,' she promised herself as she wrapped the sheets around her body.
But
once again, she had let her guard down and said ''yes'' when Naruto
asked her to marry him.
She had let her guard down and let him get
her pregnant.
She'd failed to follow Kakashi's advice, but she thought to herself, watching Naruto sleep beside her, hand on her slightly protruding stomache...
She was glad she finally let her guard down.
