Nattie's P.O.V:
I couldn't stop, or they'd catch me, make me give back my "winnings". Those idiots, they should know that there's no rules in a Street Rules game of marbles! Yeah, I cheated, but there are no rules against it.
"Come back here!" the leader of the small gang of kids called angrily.
My mind telling me to pick up the pace, my instincts screaming at me to turn-the-fuck-around-and-give-them-the-money, I went with my mind's decision and urged my legs to move faster.
"Ah come on, Al, we gotta get back before- -"
I ran around the corner and collided with two boys, sending one of them to the ground. We, the boy and I both, let out small noises of pain.
"S-sorry!" I hurriedly said as I pulled him up before running down the street, the foot-falls of the gang sounding a lot closer.
Ed's P.O.V:
"Ah come on Al, we gotta get back before- -" my sentence was cut off as a kid ran around the corner, headlong into me. We both made small noises of pain.
"S-sorry!" she said hurriedly, helping me up, then running down the street, soon followed by a group of three to four kids.
"Brother?" Al asked, glancing to where the girl and the group of kids ran off to.
"Let's go, Al." I said flatly.
"But Brother, that girl, she could get hurt!" He whimpered, tugging my sleeve.
"Well, that's her problem. We have to get home soon, you know how Teacher gets.." I muttered darkly, starting to walk again.
Nattie's P.O.V:
Damn. Now I'm screwed. I ran into a dead end. 'Ah, geez!' I thought, mentally kicking myself.
I whirled around, my heart thudding faster when the kids blocked my only way of escape. I dropped the small bag, raising my hands, ready to clap them together, even though I don't have a drop of knowledge about Alchemy in my mind.
"Stand back, I- I'm warning you!" I said defiantly. One or two of the kids took a step back.
"Lookit her, she's bluffing, she doesn't know a thing about Alchemy!" the leader, who I think is named James, barked.
I kicked the bag of change at them. Someone moved forward and retrieved it.
"There's your stupid money, now I have to go." I said, trying to find a way to leave. I sighed, seeing that there was none.
