AHEM, WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH MY FORMATTING?! Idk, but this is based on the soulmate AU where your hair is the colours of your soulmate's sexuality's flag.
Piper was staring at the mirror in shock. Her hair had changed. How? HOW?!
Her hair had been the black and white of the straight flag when she was born. That was clearly about Jason. Jason, despite all the gay jokes made about him and Percy, was probably one of the straightest guys she had ever known. Piper herself was bisexual, as she'd known for quite a while, and Jason's hair was distinctly her flag.
But since . . . you know, her hair had dropped the black and white and become brown, the same colour as her eyebrows. That happened when someone no longer has a soulmate. Some people were born like that, for example, Reyna, but they were rare, and so it was normally because they were dead. She had hated her new hair. It was a painful reminder of the love she had lost, and she avoided the mirror like the plague.
But she'd come to Camp Jupiter to say her final goodbyes to Jason, and when she'd ran into Frank and Hazel they had pointed out the change, and she'd dashed to the bathroom to see.
And now her hair was the blue, purple and pink of the bi flag. No longer straight. No longer brown. But she had a new soulmate? Was that possible? Her heart began to race. She had another chance to find love.
Piper burst out of the bathroom, grinning widely but with tears rolling down her face. She flew down the street, heart pounding.
She suddenly noticed a pair of obsidian eyes, and swung around to run towards them.
"REYNA! REYNA, MY HAIR-!" suddenly she paused. Reyna's hair was no longer dark. It was blue, purple and pink.
She stood frozen still, eyes wide, mouth gaping. Reyna was doing the same. This was . . . Reyna? Piper had always had a secret little crush on her, but she had never given it much thought because she was so in love with Jason. She still loved Jason. She would never wish to change her time with him for the world. But she couldn't spend her whole life alone, and whatever or whoever made the feeling of love swell in her heart had decided she wouldn't have to.
Reyna eventually shuffled towards her.
". . . Piper?"
". . . Reyna?"
"Piper?"
"Reyna?"
"Piper."
"Reyna."
Reyna's face burst into a huge smile, and Piper felt her own doing the same. Tears were in her eyes, threatening to spill into a waterfall, but she didn't care.
She stepped forwards and hugged her hard. Reyna was much taller than Piper, and her arms was strong and secure, but gentle and soft. She also smelt nice. Not like a definitive smell like vanilla or lavender, but . . . nice.
Reyna looked her in the eye, "I know I can never be a replacement for Jason, but I'll do my best to make you happy, right?"
"Me too," Piper sobbed and buried her face in her shoulder. Two girls with bisexual hair. Two girls who'd fallen for the same guy. Two girls who loved each other.
