He had been in love with her for to many years.

Tonight was the night to tell her.

Christopher Polvert was a notorious bad boy and heartbreaker. He went through girls like the girls went through lip gloss; he used them until nothing was left. But even through his many conquests, she was always his number one.

She sat in the satin chair. Another Holiday party. At least her friends were there. But they had all left with there significant others, leaving her twirling her chest length blonde locks. Making the saying 'All dressed up and nowhere to go' ever so true. There she was a huge holiday party in an ice blue tube dress with a flowy skirt. She all she wanted to do was dance. But with who? Her dad's co-workers sons? Not a chance they were all overachievers who'd try to cop a feel.

She took a sip of the sparkling cider before checking her phone. He still hadn't text. Claire couldn't be too disappointed. After all he did say he was done. But she thought it was just Dempsey's anger talking. Even though deep inside, she knew it was just Olivia Ryan. The way Olivia was always talking to him, texting him and over his house. It easy to tell what was going on. She took a deep breath, before standing up. She was going up to the hotel room her parents had rented. She couldn't stand to be in this room a second longer.

Chris watched as Claire got up. God she's beautiful, he thought. But she was leaving. He hurried from his spot on the wall. Hoping to catch her. Sure enough he found her walking into the elevator of the luxe hotel room. He quickly put his hand out to stop it from closing.

"Claire" He yelled urgently. The door open and Claire stood there eyes wet. "What happened?"

"Chris, I think Dempsey cheated on me." She said before breaking down.

"Claire, I'm sorry." Chris said stepping on the elevator. Then without warning she reached out to him, pulling him into a hug.

"Chris…He was supposed to be…" Claire was broken. She was extremely grateful her oldest and dearest friend was there. She felt safe.

"Shh…it's alright," Chris couldn't believe this. "I'm here".

It was at that moment Claire realized, Christopher Polvert loved her, she wasn't sure how much or what extent but he cared. That was all that mattered. Because she did too.

"Chris, I….I" He pulled her closer.

"I know….your welcome" He wanted this moment to last.

"No…I mean thank you but there's something else" She said bracing herself for the next thing.

"What is it?"

"I love you" Claire looked up at him mascara tears and all. "I have for like ever. I guess I was too wrapped up in…" Josh heart pounded in his chest. He bent down and softly kissed her. Claire was taking back but didn't resist. Because she knew that this, the two of them in that elevator, away from everything was meant to be.
