harvest moon: tree of peace
The sun dips slowly onto the horizon, and the water at their bare feet tickles their toes. Two dazed looks stare into the bright orange mess, and they just stand there: as if time had stopped and their lives could be spent watching this moment in space. It felt like time had stopped. There weren't any other foreign noises besides their slight breathing, and the ocean right below them.
The calamity of it was almost too much to bear. Peach-haired kid shifts, drawing in a dramatic breath of air to speak his next sentence.
"I'm bored." Talk to me.
"Nnn? Oh, really?" I wanted you to say something first.
"The sunset isn't all that mighty." It reflects off your blue hair just beautifully.
"There are a lot of reasons why I like sunsets." They remind me of your hair.
Shadows grow longer as the boys still stare forwards, never breaking their gaze at the sun. The peach-haired boy folds his arms, leaning. Blue-haired kid sighs and shakes his head.
"I didn't invite you." I just wanted you near.
"But you did. You brought it up." I wanted to be near you.
"I like sunrises better though." Lie.
"I hate sunsets." Lie.
The sun immerses completely into the horizon, and stars peek out in the sky. The sea is a beautiful shade of violet; the boys concentrate on that instead. Blue-haired kid shifts.
"This should be something special. Like a festival or something." Truth.
"It would be fun to go to." Truth.
"It could be like, take someone special to the beach and see the sunset kinda thing." Let me take you again someday.
Peach-haired kid breaks off his gaze, and turns to blue-haired kid. The intent look he gives digs deep into a pair of distant golden eyes. Peach-haired kid turns back to the purple water. He smiles.
"It would be fun." Someday.
Luke and Chihaya is greatness.
I didn't want them to lose their love-hate relationship...
because it's cute.
I didn't speak their names the entire drabble--
because I thought it would've been more meaningful that way.
