The idea for this came from an interview I was watching on the X3 DVD. They said that they had considered introducing Angel in X2, as one of Stryker's experiments. Well...what if they had? What would have happened then...

Disclaimer: Neither X-Men, nor the characters, belong to me. That wonder all goes to Marvel :D

Hidden from the light
Buried in the night
Pits of hell lying low
Below the water's glistening flow
People, creatures, all sorts kept
Chained to the wall in the blackened net
Hands in the air, feet to the ground
Heads on chests, eyes staring round
Here's the place where plain men fall
Where heroes rise, and villains call
Here's where Logan met his end
And where Wolverine began to mend
But what if Wolverine, in all his splendour
Was not the only one to start his fate in this torture chamber?

Another, younger, merely a child
Sold by a father, because of the wild
White feathered wings, stretching as long as a car
A disappointment, the father thought, by far
And so given to thoughts of a desperate man
Wanting weapons as fast as he can
What if the child, a most beautiful boy
Was poked and prodded just like a toy
Kept in a tank, wired to screens
Fed through a tube, breathing by means
Of a mask stretched across his cherub-like face
Clothes torn from him as if it's a race
All alone in the darkened room
Mouth bone dry and his heart going boom
Feel the fear, the anger, the pain
Of the one suffering for the other's gain
See the hatred glowing in the depths of his eyes
Read the hurt in his mind from all of the lies
But deep down, all along, lay the seeds of hope
For how else could that tortured angel cope?
He clung to the dream that one day
Someone, anyone, would pass this way
And flood his prison, break his chains
And free him from this eternal world of pain.

And that's the tale, I shall tell to you
Of the Angel boy, so young, so new
Of the pain that he endured
To fill his father's dream of being cured
And of the one who set him free
The one torn choosing which side to be
The one of fire, with a heart in a vice
Held by Untouchable and the Man of Ice
He would have run, he would have fled
But he heard the cry instead
The cry of the Angel, all alone
Simply made of flesh and bone
(And metal inserted into his structure,
But he would not learn of that 'til later)
Waiting for that hope to grow and learn
Waiting until it was his turn
But alas, poor soul, I hate to say
Even angel's burned that day.

Review? Am trying to figure out whether I should continue with this, or not. :D
