Just letting you guys all know that I own absolutely nothing. It's sad but true. I was just bored and decided to write this. So please no negative judgement. Actually you can negatively judge if you want, because we all are entitled to our own opinions. And yes I am aware that my last two statements cancelled each other out. But hey, I'm a Gemini. It's what we do. Anyway enjoy, or not, whatever. I don't care.

She sits and she waits. What's new? It seems that since they took the daunting leap into a romantic relationship, that's all she does. Her frustration rises. Another five minutes pass and she's reaching her breaking point.

"That's it. I'm done," she grinds out under her breath as she slams her napkin to the table.

"Can I help you with anything today Miss?" the waiter asks patiently, not noticing her dishevelled appearance.

"No thankyou," Maura Isles replies, polite as always. She will not let her reputation be dampened by this little incident. However this did not mean that Jane Rizzoli was any less off the hook.

"I was just leaving," Maura states, addressing the waiter. Turning sharply on her heel, she proceeds to march with purpose from one of her favourite restaurants.

"Jane, where are you?" she asks impatiently, knowing her girlfriends' voicemail doesn't hold the answer, she hangs up in disgust. This is her fifth and final message of the day. She's had it. Maura is beyond annoyed. She is beyond upset. She feels betrayed. She feels forgotten.

Sure, she gets it if Jane is too busy for lunch and cancels when they catch a break in their case. Maura understands that more than anyone. Hell, she's cancelled on Jane before too. This is not just a one sided event.

However, in the last month, Jane has cancelled their lunch plans seven times. It doesn't seem like much, but when added to the nights that she is too tired to go for a drink, or to simply just relax in each other's presence. It begins to add up.

Maura's starting to feel like Jane isn't as invested in their relationship as she should be. She's starting to feel unwanted. Like Jane has lost interest.

They have only been officially together for three months. Not nearly enough time to be able to admit their feelings. Maura knows that she's in love with Jane. She thought Jane felt the same. However now, her self-doubts are returning.

What if Jane had become bored with her? What if her randomly timed, educational facts have become a nuisance to Jane? What if Jane is looking for a way out of their relationship?

She pulls her car over in front of the Precinct and just sits and stares through the windshield. She couldn't handle it if Jane broke up with her. She would be shattered. A tear slowly weaves an intricate pattern down her flushed cheeks.

"What did I do wrong?" she asks herself, as the once slowly released tears gain pace and momentum down her cheeks and heart wrenching sobs wrack her small frame. She should just give up.

If Jane wanted to be with her, she would have come to lunch. By not making an appearance, Jane cemented Maura's fear of their relationship. She could have simply left Maura a message, letting her know she was preoccupied.

"Well I guess there's the irony," She laughed self depreciatingly. By not leaving a text or voicemail, Jane in turn sent a much stronger and clearer message. Jane is no longer interested.

"Screw her," Maura gasps between sobs. She has every right to be upset. After all, it is her Birthday.
