I had this headcanon about how Ellie reacted after Riley turned and that she had to kill her and yeah man it's super lame but oh well still a wip tho ; w ;

"You know. Everything may have been a hell of a lot better than it is now, don't you think,
Riley?" The young female said outloud to her now beaten and bloodied companion. Walking over to grab a wooden board, Ellie starts hitting whatever she can find, "A. Fuck ton. Of a lot. Better." words spitting out with every blow, breath now heavy and quickened,
trying to hold back tears. "You know what I miss? Us dancing back there. God, it was so wonderful letting loose for a change. I mean,
all that exploring and and the arcade! Oh man! That was fucking wild!
Sucks we can't go back to that. Seeing how your body is mutilated, heh, sorry about that."

Acting as if everything is fine, is okay, the sudden realisation hits her like a train, whatever that was, at full speed. "I just, jesus fuck Riley, I'm so fucking sorry I couldn't save you. so so fucking sorry!" hot, wet, tears running down her cheeks like a waterfall, her defenses have been blown. "Riley, please forgive me. Say SOMETHING, insult me, crack one of your lame jokes, call me your girl one more fucking time, so I know you're there. Just." Trying not to look at the body, Ellie can't help but look at it anyway, at every little detail there is to it. At the brain natter and shards of bone go into the brain, how her once perfect jaw line is now destroyed, at how her beautiful face is now nothing but a caved in disaster.

After a moment or two of grieving, Ellie wipes away the tears, shaking off every emotion she has felt in the last half hour and walks over to the body.

Crouching down before it, she half smiles, "Even in death and in all your caved in glory, you still manage to look as beautiful as ever. Man, I'm one lucky girl to have hold your heart. I mean, have you even looked at me? I'm just some awkward red head and you're some beautiful fucking angel girl. God I was so lucky." a small scoff leaves her lips as she runs her fingers across whats left of Riley's face as well as along down her arm, she holds her hand once more before picking her up. "Anyways, babe, let us get the fuck outta here."
