"Class, we have a new student. She just transferred here, so please treat her with respect." Kaoru Hitachiin snapped out of his thoughts. 'She?' So their new student was a girl. He smirked slightly. He and Hikaru could- Kaoru's smirk fell. Hikaru had been paying a lot of attention to Haruhi lately, even thought it was obvious that she liked Tamaki.
"Hello. My name is Kendaru Taiyo. Please take care of me." A soft, cheerful voice snapped Kaoru out of his thoughts again. He looked up and saw a pretty girl standing at the front of the classroom. She had soft-looking auburn hair, brown eyes, long lashes, and some freckles on her cheeks and nose.
"Please sit behind Kaoru Hitachiin, Kendaru," the teacher instructed. As she was walking past him, Kaoru got a whiff of her perfume. Cherry blossoms. She smelled like cherry blossoms, strawberries and peaches.
When she saw him looking at her, she smiled and said, "Hello. You must be Kaoru-kun."
"Kendaru-chan, are you going to the Host Club?"
Kendaru looked up at the girls innocently, and for some reason, Kaoru's heart sped up a bit. "Huh? Oh, no, I'm not," Kendaru answered.
"Why not?" one girl asked. "They're all so attractive."
"I can't go because I have a boyfriend," Kendaru explained. Kaoru's heart fell a bit. She...had a boyfriend?
"Really? What does he look like?" Kendaru took out her cell phone, and, after pushing some buttons, she showed the girls her phone. She had pulled up a picture of a tanned boy with orange hair and garnet eyes.
"Wow!" one girl exclaimed.
"He's more attractive than Tamaki-senpai!" another gasped.
Kendaru giggled and said, "I'm sure that Kyo-kun would love to hear that."
Kendaru often volunteered to help out with out with cleaning the 3rd Music Room, and Kaoru slowly found himself falling in love with her. He talked to Hikaru about it, and the older Hitachiin twin had encouraged him to confess to the bubbly auburn-haired girl. The day that he had decided to confess to her, however, was also the day that everything was ripped out from under him. It was after the customers had left the 3rd Music Room that it happened.
Someone opened the door, revealing six people. One boy had black and white hair and gray eyes. Another boy had blonde hair, brown eyes, and reminded Kaoru of Hunny. One other boy had gray hair and violet eyes, and another had orange hair and garnet eyes. The adult in the group had black hair, some of which covered his right eye, and the girl had brown hair and blue eyes. (A/N: Going by the anime. Though it was probably obvious with Kyo's eyes.)
"Kendaru-chan!" the girl and the blonde boy exclaimed, running to hug her.
"Tohru-kun! Momiji-kun! Haru-kun! Yuki-kun! Hatori-san! KYO-KUN!" Kendaru exclaimed, tackling the orange-haired boy.
"Hey, Kendaru," he greeted.
"Are you ready to go, Kendaru-san?" Hatori asked.
"Oh, yes!" Kendaru replied. She got up and waved good-bye to the members of the Host Club. As Kaoru watched Kendaru walk out the door, he couldn't help but wonder:
How many times will I be left alone?
