I watched as Icecloud struggled to get of the hole I once fell into. Memories flashed of that day. I shook. No. I said to myself. That's not your problem anymore. Its there's. If they can't keep their warriors above the ground then it's not my fault if they starve.

I still couldn't help but feel sorry for my former clanmate. I didn't dare go and help her. They need to think I'm dead. I long gave up on finding a way out of here.

But, part of me knew there was a way out of here. I just had to find it.

"I'll go down and get her," a voice said above. I didn't recognize it. Must be a new apprentice or warrior I didn't know. There were always Whitewing's kits to consider.

"No," I heard Lionblaze's voice. "It's too dangerous, I'll go."

"But you're too heavy," the voice I couldn't recognize protested.

After more arguing, Lionblaze finally let the mystery cat go.

She came down, I couldn't get a good look at her, if anything, and I'd say she was gray, but I couldn't be sure.

Finally, Icecloud was free. Good. I thought. The mystery cat was just about to go up, but she looked my way before she went.

"Who are you?" she seemed to say.

"Dovepaw," Lionblaze said impatiently. "Let's go."

"Go," I whispered to her, so only she could hear. "I was never here. Go, live your life. Be proud, your one of the three."

She looked shocked, but then nodded and went up. I smiled at myself. For some strange reason, I wasn't mad that I wasn't one of the three. Maybe even a little relieved.

I then turned around and went deeper into the tunnels, I had a mission after all.

To find freedom. One day, I would find it.

So I took my first step on a journey I would never forget.

We learn to live on our own, life's a journey. Enjoy it, like all journeys. They end. ~Unknown
