SILENT ASSASIN- ONE SHOT
The light pulsed through the room, making Heero's face and skin a ghostly blue, and lighting the walls around him. The corners where still in shadow, giving the room a creepy look, like a still out of a Stephen king novel.
Heero's eyes scanned the script that rolled down the screen, a hard to follow code of zero's, one's and asterix's that only a few people could understand.
"Hn, damnit." It was a message from Doctor J, and as soon as it was read, Heero deleted it. He then went through his history and recycle bin and erased all traces of the message ever existing. Sometimes the super hacker skills taught to him came in handy.
As he switched the computer screen off and pulled his surgical gloves from his hands he regarded the window he had entered the building through. Could he go through it again, and not attract attention? He decided that it was a safe bet that no one had seen him enter the school, as it was likely no one would see him leave, but still. He shoved the gloves into the pocket of his denim jacket and looked around the pokey little computer lab before he walked into the corridor, being extra careful to not even brush against the doors. He released a silent ''mission: accepted.'' As he left the room, knowing that the small time security camera's in the schools lab would pick up on his presence if he risked making even a small sound. Luckily he had been able to spray a small amount of reflective paste over the lenses, so they wouldn't have seen him.
As he walked down the corridor, Heero reflected on the pattern his life was talking. It was moving in a direction he didn't like. He wasn't allowed to use public computer terminals, for fear of his mission messages being traced and read. So he entered any building with Internet access on a large public scale. This meant schools, businesses, the occasional shut down Internet café, but even those were risky. It would be simpler to enter private homes and such, but there was no guarantee that a) these had a computer with internet access, and b) the calls would not be traced by the homeowner who started noticing midnight call-times on his or her bill.
So far he had failed mission after mission, and with each acknowledgement of failure Heero became more and more diseased and desperate. It was a disease of the soul, something that ate away at his stomach, gnawing at him late at night until there was just no point going to sleep, as dreams were worse than the terrible feeling of eternal exhaustion.
But this mission would be different. He wouldn't fail this time.

This chapter was sponsored and inspired by: The wonderful Louise and her search for pics for my home page; listening to Zwan @ midnight; the X-rated version of 'I wish I was a girl' by violent delight (I love this song!!!! Everyone buy it please!!); and trying to forget the fact that I have burst a blood vessel in my eye. Also having to read shitty crossovers in the hope that there's something decent. somewhere. in the fic.
Sorry this is so short, but it's just an opening tester-teaser. If no one likes/reviews it, I won't post the first real chapter. So if you even remotely found this teaser interesting, I would suggest you review, otherwise there will be no first chapter.
Thanks to everyone who read this, I appreciate it.
