The Games
Day 1
Zoie-Antoinette:
So, as all the other tributes are supposed to, I'm going to be writing in this journal every night. I don't even get why the Gamemakers need these. I mean, they're probably going to get lost in the arena anyways. When the Games started, the other Careers and I of course dominated the Bloodbath, although Marina injured her arm. Before that, I thought of her as my strongest competition, but now I think I can easily win the Games. We hunted down some other tributes, who I don't even bother remembering the names of. Well, ta-ta.
Daniel:
I think teaming up with Beth and District 5 was a very good idea. All four of us are very smart, and I think that we may even stand a chance against the Careers, even if they outnumber us. I am suspicious of Helena, though. While Drew, Beth and I were hunting, Helena may have taken some stuff, because after I got back I noticed a few things were missing from my pack. But they were small. If she keeps taking things, though, I may have to work with Beth and Drew to take her down.
Kayla:
I have nothing. I didn't want to die at the Cornucopia, so I took some crackers that were close to me off of the ground. By mid-day, I was so hungry, so I ate them all. I really wish I went to the Cornucopia, because now anybody, even the little girl from District 7, could kill me easily.
Mark:
Well, my only possible ally is gone. Lesliellen died. She was the only one that even remotely liked me in training. I've never felt so lonely in my life. Since I have nothing better to do, I guess I'll recap the deaths.
Dead:
Vinnie (D6)
Sam (D7)
Lesliellen (D8)
Derek (D10)
Manuel (D11)
Sierra (D11)
Jerry (D12)
Ruby (D12)
Day 2
Maryna:
Axle and Zoie died. Axle was the only one in the entire Games that understood me. I can't believe he's dead now. It's all the Gamemakers' faults. They caused a flood that destroyed all of our food and killed two of our members. I guess I don't really mind that Zoie's dead. She was a nuisance anyways. But… Axle… I'm just going to stop writing now.
Drew:
Helena left. I always knew she was suspicious, but I didn't know that she could just leave like that. While I was hunting with Beth and Dan, she took everything and disappeared. She covered her tracks well, because we do not have any hint at an idea of where she went. Now we only have the weapons that we hunted with, which is not good considering the weather problems that have been arising recently.
Lauren:
My first kill. I can't believe I have actually murdered somebody. Anu and I were sorting through our packs when we heard a noise. It was the girl from District 5, Helen, or something like that. She came running towards us with a sword. Anu injured her with his axe, but I stabbed her in the heart and killed her. I know I did it in self-defense and we are supposed to do this in the arena, but I can't help but feel how truly wrong this is. After that, I heard another cannon go off. The Careers were probably the ones who killed Mark. I'll recap the deaths.
Dead:
Zoie-Antoinette (D2)
Axle (D4)
Helena (D5)
Mark (D8)
Day 3
Leigha:
The Careers are close. I was woken up by the sounds of footsteps on branches and a cannon going off. It was Jason's death. He was killed by the Careers. They spotted me and chased after me for a while. I was so out of breath, and I knew they were going to kill me. However, they got distracted by Kayla, the girl from 10, who had slipped off of her tree and hurt her head. They killed her. I am now high up in a tree with the Careers directly below me. I'm so scared. I'm only 12. I don't want to die.
Landon:
I am proud to say that I was the one who killed both the District 6 guy and the District 10 girl. Only Saylee bothers to memorize the names of the people we've killed. Honestly, she's just too emotional sometimes. The reasons the sponsors aren't giving her anything is because she isn't too keen on the whole "killing" thing. Well, you have to be completely in it in order to win it.
Saylee:
I'm planning to leave them. The 3 of them are soulless. They're too lazy to even bother to know the names of the innocent people they've killed, but they're not too lazy to kill them. I don't care if I don't get sponsors, I'm sick of having to kill people.
Joseph:
We have to keep an eye on Saylee. I know she's going to try to leave anytime now. Saylee, with her perfect little self and her little morals. This is the Hunger Games. You either kill or be killed here, and she's going to have to learn that the hard way.
Bethany:
Nothing too new here. I guess I'll just recap the deaths. I wish there was just one day where nobody died.
Dead:
Jason (D6)
Kayla (D10)
Alive (other than me):
Landon (D1)
Saylee (D1)
Joseph (D2)
Dan (D3)
Maryna (D4)
Drew (D5)
Leigha (D7)
Anu (D9)
Lauren (D9)
Day 4
Leigha:
I've escaped the Careers and spent today spying on the other Tributes. They were surprisingly easy to find. The nine others are all in alliances, so I guess I'm the odd one out. I'm not worried, though. They'll all just kill each other and I'll be the last one alive. I hope.
Anu:
Lauren and I spent the whole day travelling and hunting. We both think we spotted the little girl from 7 spying on us one time, but we didn't want to kill her because she would be the one we would want to win if one of us didn't. Besides, it didn't look like she had any weapons on her, so we just left her alone.
Bethany:
I'm surprised District 9 is still in the running. Their tributes are usually the second-weakest, aside from District 12's. I guess they just have a good batch this year. I think that them and the Careers might just fight it out and leave us alone. And the girl from 7? Oh please, she can't do a thing. But, that time will come later, as there were no deaths today.
Day 5
Landon:
Shit happened. It's only been 5 days in, and there are now only 6 Tributes left. We ran into another alliance, I think District 3 and the boy from 5. I'm the only Career alive. Both Joey and Mary died, and Saylee ran away. I killed the Tributes from District 3, though. Now that Joey and Mary are dead, I am now the strongest one in the arena. I'm still surprised at how fast we recovered from the flood. Weak tributes surprisingly have a lot of food. Well, except the girl from 10. She had nothing.
Drew:
I'm all alone now. All my allies died because of that stupid Landon. Now that I am independent, I might want to start making new alliances. Maybe the Tributes from 9 will do. Although the girl from 7 obviously must be able to at least feed herself…
Lauren:
Guessing from the death toll, two alliances must have had a huge clash, so now there's only 6 of us left. I guess I'll recap the deaths.
Dead:
Joseph (D2)
Daniel (D3)
Bethany (D3)
Maryna (D4)
Alive (other than me):
Landon (D1)
Saylee (D1)
Drew (D5)
Leigha (D7)
Anu (D9)
Day 6
Landon:
Wow, I am just on a roll. I killed two people today. I killed the boy from 9 and injured his district partner, which was a plus, but that wasn't the real victory today. I finally taught that stupid Saylee a lesson about the Hunger Games and killed her. It was really quite a treat. Now that there's only 4 of us left, I'm sure the Gamemakers will be driving us together using something. I better get ready for my victory.
Lauren:
Watching my friend die and tending to my injured leg have been my main two activities today. I really thought that we could make it all the way to the finale. Well, I guess not. Now I have to win the Games. If you want to see who else's dreams have been crushed, read below.
Dead:
Saylee (D1)
Anu (D9)
Alive:
Landon (D1)
Drew (D5)
Leigha (D7)
Me (D9)
Day 7
Lauren:
One week in and it's already happened. This morning I was awoken to a gigantic tidal wave, which soon led me to the Cornucopia. There, I was met face-to-face with an overcompensating but very dangerous Landon, an intimidating but unsure-looking Drew, and a scared-to-death Leigha. Being the cruel person he was, Landon killed Leigha quickly and laughed. Drew and I tried to team up against him but he snapped Drew's neck, killing him instantly. Now, I'm not sure if the Gamemakers had meant for this to happen or if it was complete accident, but you know the tidal wave I had to run from? Well, at the exact moment Landon was done killing Drew, it swept him away, meaning that I am the victor of the Hunger Games. I don't know if I should be proud that I won an epic battle against 23 other kids, or that I should feel guilty that I killed people to be in this position. I guess that's the question all victors ask themselves.
