Changed Plans, Lucky Chances

A/N

Sorry I haven't been around for ages, I've been busy with life in general! Anyway, this is a little fic I thought of, based around "Good Morning Lemmings." The first couple of lines are direct from the show. I always get the feeling that Gerry could have had plans involving a certain Detective Superintendent ;). I do not own New Tricks or any of the characters. Just a fun little Sherry one shot :-)

"But I had plans!" said Gerry. 'Change 'em!' Sandra snapped back. Gerry rolled his eyes. "It's been ages since we've spent some time together I was going to cook her favourite meal for her and everything, now Brian had to bloody ruin it!" he moaned to Jack. "Don't tell me! Tell TopCop999 over there! It's all his fault!" Jack answered. "How can I make it up to her? Come on Brian you're the brainy one!" Gerry said to him. "Don't ask me! I don't know, do I? Take her out somewhere, really nice." Brian replied.

"Well, she's been talking about going to see The Phantom Of The Opera musical for ages. She loves the film, scares me to death though!" Gerry mused. "Well, why don't you look on some theatre websites? I'm sure you can get tickets for a show somewhere" Jack suggested. "Hmm. Caitlin loves it as well, I'll text her to see if she wants to go as well." Gerry said. "No! You are not getting out of it! You are going to see it as well! Scaredy-cat!" Jack chided him. "Yeah, yeah, yeah! Stop taking the mick!" Gerry said, embarrassed.

Gerry knocked on the door of Sandra's office and opened it. "Can I come in?" he asked. She looked up from her computer at him and smiled. "Of course, I'm not angry at you, I'm sorry that I snapped" she said, getting up and kissing him. "Don't worry, it's quite understandable, I probably would have done the same! What do you want for your tea? I'm sorry about tonight, I'll make it up to you, I promise" Gerry said to her. "A Vindaloo curry, and I know you will, you're lovely like that" Sandra smiled. "I know I am! That's why you love me so much! I'll pay for us all as long as you don't make us have curry as well!" Gerry smiled. "I won't, I promise! And stop showing off!" Sandra answered, slapping his arm playfully.

"Right boys; fancy a takeaway for your tea? I'll pay" Gerry said to Brian and Jack. "Oooh yes please! Here's a tenner, it's to say sorry for, well, everything" Brian handed Gerry a £10 note. "Thanks, Brian, Sandra has cheered up with me but I doubt that she will be happy with you for a while" Gerry warned.

A couple of months later...

"I still can't believe that you found tickets! You're really lucky, you know! When Esther and I went to see it, we waited 14 months!" Brian said to Gerry, slightly jealous. "Well, I suppose that I just got lucky, I emailed the website asking them to email me in the event of anybody cancelling their tickets, and hey-ho, they did!" Gerry answered. "Lucky is an understatement!" Jack replied.

"Come on, Sandra, time to go" Gerry told her a couple of hours later. She frowned. "Why so early? It's only five o'clock!" she said. "Because Caitlin, me, and you are going to see "The Phantom Of The Opera" on stage. And, before that, we are going out for dinner. So we need to go home and get changed, we can't go out to the theatre and dinner in our work clothes!" Gerry grinned at her. "Oh my God! How did you? Cait has been wanting to see it for ages too! I mean how did you get tickets? Thank you so much! I love you!" Sandra said, her smile was a mile wide.
