The first time she sees him "dancing", it's not really dancing. He's bopping along to the music on the car radio, gets quite caught up, and all she can do is sit and stare in horror.
The second time she sees him dancing is when Duke invites a popular local band to play at the Gull. He's dancing with Jess, and she's horrified at the wooden way he's holding her. He's dipping her, almost drops her, and all Audrey feels is that sting deep down in the pit of her stomach.
The third time she sees him dancing, he's drunk and depressed and apparently not in control of his body movements. Mary Honiger tries to seduce him and fails miserably. Probably because of the dancing. When she finally bats Mary away, she drives him home and spends the night on his couch. In the morning, they drink coffee and he squints against the bright sunlight.
The fourth time and the first time they dance together, is at Duke's Grand New Year's Eve party. It's long after midnight, the bar is all but deserted, and Duke ran off with Other Audrey a few hours ago. The dj is playing sappy love songs, and he's holding her and rocking her gently back and forth to the music.
The fifth time, they dance at their engagement party. He's steadying her and whispering I love yous and she thinks dancing should always be sweet and slow like this.
