The following story is inspired by F-Zero. It's my first race and I'm so pumped. Disclaimer: F-Zero is a property of Nintendo.
It's a beautiful day at Mute City where the first race of the F-Zero Grand Prix is about to start. I was so pumped for the first race as Mr. Zero introduced me, "And now, making his F-Zero debut, the flaming driver from Earth, Dragon Puncher!"
The crowd cheered for me as I enter the racetrack. Mr. Zero smiled to me and said, "Welcome to F-Zero, Dragon!"
"Thank you for having me." I replied as I shook his hand, "It's an honor to be here and today is a very special day for me because today is my first race here at Mute City and now, I'm going to show you my F-Zero Machine! Lights!"
The lights dimmed as I present the machine to the crowd, "Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you my F-Zero machine! Meet… The Fire Breath!"
The curtain opened up and my machine was revealed. The Fire Breath has an orange and red paint job, a shield and it has speeds of up to 1,500 mph! The crowd cheered for my machine as I enter it. Mr. Zero said to me, "Well, it looks like your machine can breathe fire, right?"
"Of course it can do that! It's all in the machine! Now if you excuse me, I'm off to the starting line and get myself ready for the first race. See you later!"
"OK, good luck out there and you'll start in first place because this is your first race! Have fun!"
I entered my machine and flew to the starting line. The crowd cheered for me as I flew across the track and there it was, the starting line of the first race and there is an open spot for me, the pole position. I came to this spot and said, "Well, here I am! The starting line! In just a few seconds, the first race is about to begin! This is going to be the best experience that I'll ever have. Well, it's race time!"
So there I was with the engine all revved up and ready to go. The screen lowered on my field and I said, "What's this screen doing here on my field?"
Mr. Zero replied to me and said, "Oh, I almost forgot about that. That screen will show you the countdown timer. You will always see that when the race is about to start. When the screen says go, just go! Now, watch the screen and have a great race!"
"Thanks! I'll keep an eye out on that screen!" I replied as the crowd grew silent. Then, the screen turned on.
"3, 2, 1..." The screen said.
"Here we…" I said as the screen shows the word that will start the race…
"GO!"
"GO!" I shouted as the green light flashed on me and I hit the gas pedal.
And so begins my first race.
