Summary: Short one shot on Seth and Summer's feelings 3 months after Seth returned from Portland.
SMILES ALL AROUND
She hadn't forgiven him yet. He knew that. Three months since he'd been back home. Two months since he'd stopped trying to pursue her. He'd left, she was mad, so he decided to suck it up and realise it wasn't going to go back to how it was.
When he apologised, she'd accepted it but she didn't actually mean it. He could see through her facades, after all he'd had 10 years of experience.
He'd hurt her, he knew that more than anybody, except for maybe her, but he also knew she wouldn't admit it, he knew though.
To him it was obvious, every time their eyes met going down the hall he could see that flicker of pain flash through them, but when he stared at her for just a few more seconds her eyes would immediately break contact and the next time they saw each other it would be as if nothing ever happened between them.
He saw what she was doing as well. The saying forgive and forget didn't match this situation because she wasn't forgetting being left all summer she was trying to forget them being together at all. That probably hurt him the most, but he deserved it, so it's all good.
He just prayed that one day, she could forgive him. Properly forgive him. But until then it was smiles all around.

She knew she hadn't forgiven him, not really anyway. She would only think about it when she was alone because it hurt her way ore than she was willing to let on.
She had fallen so deeply in love with him, she wasn't too proud to admit that. She guessed that it was pretty obvious to everyone except her back then.
But now she realises.
She began feeling that way when they finally really got together, the night of the valentines gala, she didn't think a night could be so perfect. But she never, ever would have thought she was in love.
The time that it really hit her was the day they were both doing up Marissa's room.
That kiss was trying to tell him everything she couldn't, or maybe she just didn't want to,
"I'm sorry for the way I treated you."
"I can't believe I never knew hoe perfect you were until now."
"I love you more than you'll ever know."
She was planning on telling him for real the night at the wedding, but the timing was never quite right. Then he was gone. She was hurt, confused, desperate, bitter, then just plain angry. "That selfish prick deserves everything he gets." She put it nicely.
The he was back. She was hurt. Again.
That's why when their eyes catch for just a second, the flicker of pain ignites and the ache in her heart grows a little more impatient.
She hadn't forgiven him yet, not because she didn't want to, but because she could not do it. She wasn't ready to willingly open up and feel so much for him again.
Maybe one day it will be alright, but until then its smiles all around.
Please review, really want to know what you think of this!! Thanks!!
