Bella Swan was in the parking lot, violating many of the rules of common sense, such as "Pay attention to your surroundings, especially when in a parking lot full of high school students". She was completely oblivious to everything around her.
Tyler was driving in his van, humming a happy tune, about to park, when he saw Bella. "Oho!" he said. "There's Bella! I should run her down so she'll go to the prom with me." He revved up the van and steered it toward her.
Edward Cullen was standing nearby, being mostly useless and somewhat sparkly. Much to his chagrin, some strange thirteen-year-old girls were mobbing him, damaging his perfectly sullen reputation. He saw Bella about to be hit, and considered darting out for a daring superpowered rescue, but the girls were blocking his route.
SPLAT!
Much to Bella's chagrin, she was splattered all over Tyler's van.
Much to Tyler's chagrin, there were Bella-bits all over his favorite van, and he was afraid they'd never come off.
Much to Edward's chagrin, the Bella-bits smelled exquisitely good, but he was busy being mobbed.
Finally, Edward used his super-sparkle powers to throw the girls into a wall. He Sonic-sped up to Tyler, who was standing looking at his van with a disgusted look on his face. "May I lick your van?" Edward asked.
"Okay," Tyler said. He wanted the Bella-bits gone.
Edward bent over and licked the van, but quickly stood up straight again. Much to his chagrin, although Bella smelled like popcorn drenched in bacon, she tasted like no personality. He stuck his tongue out. "Bleh! Never mind," he said, sulking away.
Luckily, because in Forks it rains like 300% of the time unless Bella's around, the rain washed away all of the Bella-bits from Tyler's exalted van.
And there was much rejoicing.
So everyone went to the local whatever and ate tasty pizza and played Skee-ball. And they lived happily ever after, especially Edward, who finally found a foundation to cover up those nasty sparkly blemishes.
