Please note that this whole fanfic will be written in Chris' POV.
"Hey Danny, pass me the wrench."
"You got it." My friend Danny said, as he picked up a nearby wrench and tossed it to Wallow.
We were fixing our ship that day, as it had been beat up pretty badly on our last mission. I'm not going to go into anything specific, but all I can say is that we were heading to a distant planet to try and help out some peeps who had called for us, and we ran out of fuel at the last minute. Needless to say, we crashed. Whatever those guys needed us for must not have been anything too urgent, as their leader offered to take us back to Mars with our broken ship. There was really only damage to the front end mostly, but there were some problematic spots here and there. They told us we could come back whenever we were ready. It was Danny's fault though. He forgot to refuel the thing before we left, so I was already a little ticked at him. If it wasn't bad enough, Beth said that she was going to invite her friend Plum over to help get the job done faster. Don't get me wrong, Plum is cool and all, but Danny and Wallow always act so weird when she comes over. Especially Danny. It's super annoying. They kept getting distracted and were barely getting any work done. Plum was helping, but she didn't want to be rude. So every time they wanted to get her attention, she would become momentarily distracted as well. Beth and I were the only ones who were actually focused. I had gotten fed up after several hours of this.
"Ugh! You guys aren't even helping!" I said.
"Yes we are! Right Wallow?" Danny replied, in his usual overly confident tone.
"Yeah! Look, we fixed some really bad dents that were in the front here!" Wallow said as he pointed to a section of the ship.
"Right. And what else?" I said, raising an eyebrow.
"W-well... ummm..."
"Exactly. Beth and I have been working our butts off out here for almost five hours now, not to mention it's hot as balls, and you two have barely gotten anything done. I'm taking a break." I said as I put my tools down and wiped some sweat off my face with my sleeve. I got up and walked away. I heard Danny scoff from behind me.
I was really dirty from all the work I had been doing, so I decided to hop in the shower. When I came out, I saw that Beth was sitting on my bed.
"Oh! I'm sorry, did you need to get in there?" I asked her.
"No. I came in here a few minutes after you left us." She said.
"Oh, sorry about that. It's just that they weren't doing anything and I needed a break."
"I know. They're ridiculous. They annoyed Plum so bad that she went home."
"Are they still out there?"
"Yeah. I told them not to get up until they had the whole thing in pristine condition."
I chuckled a bit.
"So how come you came in here? Why didn't you go in your room? I'm just curious, I mean, I don't have any problems with it or anything!" I put my hands up defensively.
"Well, I uh... I've been wanting to talk to you in private about something. I figured now was the best time, since those two idiots will be busy out there for a while."
"Alright sure! What do you want to talk to me about?" I sat down next to her.
I still laugh about this. I had absolutely no clue what was about to happen.
