Prologue

It only took a few years to grow up, less than a decade but mom was still a little iffy about me dating Jacob. I only knew that they were best friends before I was born, I wondered what she thought about him, I could tell she looked a little hurt.

But, I couldn't think like that, not while it was almost time for my first day in school. My first year in high school, hell, it was my first day in any school.

"Watch that language Nessie" Dad looked angry that I said something bad, even in my head.

"You know that's annoying right?" I wanted him to see that I was practicing talking with sound and not my ''sight''.

"I don't care, you know only your mother can't be read unless she wants to be." He looked as if he didn't like being talked back to. "You know I don't Ness."

"I don't know what you're talking about." I said with a smirk. "Plus aren't we supposed to be acting like brother and sister in school?" He was already thinking about it before I asked him.

"Yes, I suppose you're right." I thought I finally won an argument against him when he said that, forcing me into an almost "told you so" smile. "But when we're here you listen to me." My smile went away.

I decided to stop arguing with him until I had back-up so I went to check for mom.

"She's upstairs in your room waiting for you, looks like someone's in trouble." He liked to tease me when I got mad at him, always leaving me feeling better in some crazy way.

I opened the door to my room and preceded to walk in and greet her with a smile. But she didn't look happy and I knew what this was about. She didn't want me to be dating Jacob while in school, or maybe at all.

"Renesmee?" My mother said softly. "Please, can you stop seeing Jacob during the day until you graduate from your first year?" I could see that she meant it.

"Okay, I think I know why, but can I see him at night? Pleeease?" Me being her only child was good in some ways, I usually got my way.

"Just don't do anything with him, he's a lot older then you, I mean you're only seven years old." She meant every word. I couldn't kiss, hold hands, or of course do anything with him.

"Okay mom, plus I wouldn't want to hurt him." I smiled like Jacob did while headed downstairs to get ready, I knew she liked it. I could tell it brought back good memories.

"And make sure you get to sleep on time!" Moms, always over-protected, even if you could stop an eighteen-wheeler with no trouble at all.
