As night was passing, a light remained on of a hospital room in the palace of Aeroplane. The people were peaceful in their houses after a big celebration a week ago, but this night was quite the opposite for those in the room. The Nindroid of Ice stood besides his father, who rested on a bed while slightly shivering under the covers.

"Zane, my son, you are still here. The morning is about to arrive," Dr. Julien said, as he opened his eyes.

"I know father, but I will not leave your side while you are ill like this," Zane said, holding his hand.

"That's kind of you, my son. But I wouldn't want to keep you away from your bride. My time is fleeting, but your times have just begun," Dr. Julien said.

Zane smiled and said, "She understands that I would want to stay by you, and when you recover, I will rejoin her."

"Ah. But you have just been married. You should be by each other's side. It's still your honeymoon, after all," Dr. Julien said.

"I don't wish to leave you alone, father. Not until I know you are well," Zane said.

Dr. Julien looked at his son a little longer, and then he weakly smiled and said,

"I know you are trying to give me hope, son, but I know that you know I won't recover this time. I'm sure you've scanned me already and know this, especially since you were upgraded with Aeroplane technology. That's why you won't leave me alone, right?"

Zane felt a pang in his chest, as he looked down in sorrow.

"Oh my son, I'm sorry," Dr. Julien said.

"Do not apologize, father. This is the cycle of life, and I knew this would happen eventually. I just wanted you to feel content before..." Zane said, feeling sadder as he spoke.

"My son, I am content. I've always been, ever since I made you," Dr. Julien said, as Zane looked at him with a smile.

"And look at you now, a future king of Aeroplane married to a beautiful Cynoichi. I have no need to worry. No fear, no regrets... I love you, Zane," Dr. Julien said, and Zane leaned over to hug him.

"I love you too, Dad," Zane said, as his father hugged him back.

They separated, as they wiped away their tears.

"Be good to her, Zane, and take care of yourselves and the kingdoms. Give my best regards and thanks to everyone, especially the King and Queen of Aeroplane for their kindness," Dr. Julien said, and Zane nodded.

"I will father... goodbye," Zane said, and his father took his last breath as the sun rose from the horizon.

Here is the official introductory chapter of Ninjago: Kunoichi's Road, the part two of Ninjago: Ninja's Way.

I'm not sure when the first chapter will be out, but hopefully as soon as I can finish it. :)
