Disclamer : Shaman King belongs to its rightful creators and owners.

Summary : This situation, Yoh had lived it so many times before! He did not wish it upon anyone and if he could change it to get a more pleasant ending, then he'd always do it, even he would be taken for someone deluded.

Author's note : English isn't my first language, it's French. If you spot any mistakes or weirdness, please feel free to notify me ! This is also a translation of an OS I wrote four years ago.

This story is part of the writing month challenge from TheWritter1996: Write a one-shot per day and share it for an entire month. For more challenge, I decided to go one different fandom per day.

So rain would stop falling down

"You're insane, Morty!"

"And what were they doing, your ghosts? They partied hard?"

Yoh's onyx gaze observed the scene.

How sadly familiar it was to him! This scene, how many times had he lived it before? He too, he had been called mad, insane. His shaman gift had isolated him from the rest of the world. How many time did he have to swallow back his tears out of pride, to fight this bitter taste frustration left in his throat? How many breaks, lunch times, had he spent alone?

For a brief moment, it was not Morty he saw anymore, it was himself. All the insults he had been told were falling down on him, like a torrential rain.

Mad.

Insane.

Weirdo.

Freak.

They made him feel his difference, his abnormality. Just like they did it for others. He had hated them, he had cursed his shamanic power. He had loathed himself. Until he had understood it was not his fault.

And it wasn't theirs either.

Men could only believe in what they could see and feared what they could not grasp. It was in their nature. To blame them for it would have been like blaming something for breathing. He knew he was lucky to have realized it. He knew how rare it was. Others would have drowned in anger. Loneliness was the path that led to it.

"I'm telling you, ghosts exist!" Morty then shouted, tears threatening to fall from his eyes.
"You know, I believe you." Yoh suddenly said
"Wha... What did you say?" The teenager asked, astonished

With a genuine smile, Yoh affirmed:

"Ghosts exist."

So Morty's loneliness would finally end.

The End
